See, here's the thing you guys arnt getting.

The weapons cache was never meant to force you to build balanced companies, just if you did spam a powerful upgrade there would be a deficiency in some other area, like lets say, lack of a suitable number of ATGs because you spent a large portion of your pool on assault.

That's all it is, a pool for upgrades. Apparently, PE Needs some looking into, I have already lowered the cache cost on the majority of their repair kits for the time being.

You could already and always build these bullshit companies (25 scout car PE) before the WC. That wasnt supposed to change, you were just buying yourself into a weakness by spending so much cache on one thing.



With 100 cache + 30 reserve, Im surprised anyone is still getting fucked over. You guys think your making a point but your not doing anything that I did not want you to do, we just need to take a hard look at all the numbers.


Here's what EIRRmod said when I described it to him:

It makes sense!

Say you spam an assault company, using a lot of cache (lets not say all of it)

Theres ~10 cache left for things like grenades or Repairs then (at lets say 1 for grenades, and 2 or 3 for repairs).

Running a spam assault company NOW has a ramification limit, but if grenades or repairs had none, then its not really doing ANYTHING.

So I can now understand why cache costs on quite a fair chunk of upgrades (and units) will no force a balanced company, just limit a SPAMMED company.

All of this could have been tested internally in about 3 days of playing with company builds. Congrats, you are like the Sword of the Stars 2 dev team.

Actually, no it couldnt. Sorry, that's not how the launcher works. What I get, you get, no test builds of the launcher, I cant generate battlefiles without playing a game, no internal testing.

How bout you sit down and come up with every conceivable balanced company in eirr and write it down on a piece of paper without playtesting it.

Groundfire, I think his point was you didn't bother to make even a SINGLE company with your system before you unleashed it upon the rest - let alone "every conceivable balanced build".

Now of course - you may have indeed tried working out a decent, working company build with the WC numbers prior to releasing them, we have no way of checking that. But the WC numbers are absolutely terrible and absolutely unnecessary. All it is is a fail way of balancing upgrades that are indeed under-priced by adding a secondary layer of munitions cost in a convoluted manner.

I think a simple way to do it would be entering the units into Excel, and then seeing if the kinds of builds you want to punish are being punished and the ones that are well rounded and balanced are still working.

Right now, spam is even more encouraged than it used to be, most of the time without any downside.

Isn't it just as simple as making companies and playing the game? I heard testing broken stuff solves things more than fancy excel sheets. I also heard testing is a cool thing for bros.

alternative with 4 less luft g43 squads i was able to add

2 wirbles
