I haven;t touched Vanilla CoH in ages. My friend started playing it again so I figured I'm join him and shake off the rust.

I remember why I stopped playing CoH...

The British break the game so badly. Their entire design philosophy completely goes against all the underlying mechanics of the CoH game type.

I have no issues with Americans, or Panzer Elite or Wehrmacht. They all have HQ sectors and similar mechanics. But the British don't have an HQ sector. Anything that might affect them in the manner of Territory cuts or proper positioning just doesn't apply to them and it annoys me.

I wasn't able to Scorched Earth any of their points into a territory cut because they simply don't care. All I'd be doing is trashing that singular point. They still get resources, their team mates still get resources. It's fucked. Even more confusing/hilarious is Vampire Halftracks in their initial Sector. Sometimes it rapes the resources, sometimes it does nothing.

Yes, that and the zoom. That's why COHO was so awesome, no brits to ruin the gameplay.

In EIR they were improved a lot but I still think that they should have more types of infantry, they only have the regular infantry section and then commandos if you choose that doctrine (which are pretty weak atm) there's not a whole lot of choice Sad

If I want to get into the vcoh feeling i just watch a good cast between americans and wehrmacht at high level play. Though a few players will see that the med bunker type of plays cheapen this experience as well. But yeah, nothing is uglier than seeing PE and brits go at it.

That's probably true for 1v1s but for larger games, no.

Brits HQ sector is his where his HQ truck is I think. I don't really play VCoH but thats my guess.

i enjoy brits although it is kinda silly to have a command tank take the place of a stag :/ kinda sucks cause they are both really usefull.
