Whats more reasonable to account for the new players? The video/PR thing that was posted, or some highly controversial change in the deep end of the design??

The video/PR accounts for probably 90% or more of the new players IMO. I am not really sure what you are getting at TBH.....

@Spartan - Stop being so Butt hurt. You are starting to act like a spoiled Brat and it's very unbecoming.
You are QQ because I told you in vent exactly how it is. Exactly how I spelled it out in my last post. Here's a little reminder for you.

Quote
This community bitches, argues, and disagrees with each other on every single topic brought up in these forums. You all will never agree on the same thing. But somehow the Dev team is supposed to magically make you all happy with the decisions we make. but if we make a decision some of you are unhappy with, we are accused of "ramming it down your throats".

Exactly what I said to you in vent. There becomes a point when we have to say fuck it, we can't make them all happy so let's do what we feel the majority will be happy with.

Unfortunately for you and your little spoiled brat attitude, it didn't fit with what you wanted, so now you are on a crusade to make Tank130 the bad guy. Bad news for you Spartan, I am not here on a popularity contest. I couldn't give two fucks if a guy like you likes me or not.

Out of all those posts, you can only argue that one I posted is questionable. Are you trying to argue that the "ENTIRE COMMUNITY" does not want a system because I may have (arguably) misquoted someone. You are starting to grasp at straws.

unknown is trying to find a compromise and all you can do is QQ about Tank. It's time for you to move on Spartan, the mod is not fun for you anymore.

sparten is right, well with my comment. i dont like either, but i think this proposal is much better.

This argument is as silly as tank's in regards to playerbase. It's friday, there's more players on weekends. I'm pretty sure the removal of the WC had very little to do with it.

Anyway, let's all just take a deep breath and relax, this is really not worth getting so worked up over.

Far be it for me to take someone's word and twist them around, or take partial agreement to mean complete agreement, and just going insane assuming completely support.

I know where I stand and do we have to take everyone in the game to draw out where they stand?

Correlation does not imply causation.
you assuming the increased in player from being a Friday is as baseless as Spartan's assumption that the removal of wc increased the player base.

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. -- RFC 1925

I second the Motion, +1, and  i think most of the community feels this way . Putting numbers on units is not a wise idea. The way it was before, simply with just pool values on units was the correct way of going about it. This is just creating rules, restricting creativity

you should post again, you're being quoted left and right as a cache supporter lol because your post was poorly syntaxed

Some people like to twist other people's word. Sometime people's intention to compromise just get twisted into to complete support.

When you throw a hissy fit and bitch and complain day after day, then criticize the entire dev team and say they "ram things down your throat" it's a little hard to believe that.

Essentially telling the Dev team they are a bunch of idiots after they spend countless hours volunteering their time, then hiding behind your comments with "it's because I care" is bullshit and you know it.

it's a bit disingenuous for you to include people who like wc as it was and people who prefer a different system.

Enough with the tankbashing, get back on topic or gtfo. He was simply making a list of people he saw agreeing and disagreeing, stop making such a big fuss about it.

We complain because we care. We complain because we dislike the direction the mod is taking and would like to see it change. We care about the mod, but don't confuse the mod with the dev team. the Dev team is NOT the mod. We like to give constructive criticism, and sometime that criticism is hard to bear.

hear hear, this mod consists of two things primarily: the community, which is small and cool and great, and the awesome platform of COH which simply is one of the greatest RTS's ever

To be fair, if it wasn't for Eirrmod we would've all been playing something else by now.

I am telling you your idiots for the weapons cache idea, not the mod itself. If you have to, check how much i play this mod then question my loyalty.

People who think we do not need any kind of system at all TOTAL 7

The core of the game IS a system, the weapons cache is but another layer trying to be added to the system as a whole. What we all agree is that certain fixes are needed but the cache doesn't seem to be the right way.

For those of you who were here long enough to remember. When the first 'change' came and the doctrines were wiped 3 times in a row, each time we said no! its not the doctrines, the UNITS need balancing and tweaking first before we can even look at the doctrines. (for shit like stug armor taking 300% damage from fausts)

Their response was a wipe and more doctrines, somewhat better but still built on units that were unsound. Now were back to the same point. And im tired of bringing up the fact that things should have been done right the first time, by properly balancing units and abilities BEFORE deciding a new direction.

If time had been taken to properly crunch numbers and work the units and abilities (its a pain i know) then decided something like the Weapons Cache was necessary then go for it. But at the moment its built on something inherently broken as it was made for a game (coh) that is nothing like what you have decided to do here (Eirr)

The honest truth is that units and ability from a tiered based system had to be reworked to fit a different system, and while its been adjusted from time to time its never been a unified effort which has left somethings and vcoh stats, others different, thus making the entire effort start to feel lopsided promoting things like spam.

The dev team has put in alot of work, but sometime we still need to remind you that mistakes are made. We believe that the wc is a mistake and sometime people need to realize hard work doesn't make up for bad decision.
We love the mod and there nothing else like it. We get passionate about it but we are attacking your decision and not personal attack

I think we spent long enough time without doctrines to bring our unit & ability balance on a good level. If anything, most of the current imbalances stem from doctrines and reward units.
