If I had absolute power to go through all the boards on these forums Past and present and pull all the PM's I'd find a great many refusals to use maps. and out right warnings and threats for even contacting the map makers.
I KNOW this because I sent a PM to a guy on relicnews forums once to use a(singular) map and not even 2 days later got a PM here about 'trying to steal mappers'.
In the past it has been an entirely 1 way street
That said though, technically we don't need permission. Its Relic IP. We just respect the wishes and boundaries of community members and their contributions in an effort that the enitre community will be bolstered.

We have several times in the past, and the response was often outright rude. I certainly am not going to bother any more. (There's not even that many OMG maps I would like to see in eir anyway)
Also they never hijacked any of our maps afaik, we simply didn't jump on the whole 'exclusive map' thing like they did.

Please let us know which maps are worthy.. aka good.
Then we need to have our mappers, take those maps, tweak them 10%.. Add more detail, move a house 10 feet, and stuff....
Then we have fulfilled our copyright obligations if you want to get all honorary about being on the high road. Then we present the map with a different name.
