yea tank, lets see which freedoms are lost..

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=7622

you have a nice long text up there that shows you that you lost a lot more than:
You can't yell bomb in an airport
 - You can't tweet you are going to destroy america if you are coming from another country
 - You can't pirate music and software on the internet.

I am not biting an person specifically .... at least that is not my intention.

I am biting the bleeding hearts that think we live in a world of purple dinosaurs with yellow poka dots. Where everyone hold hands and sings Kumbya.

Could you point out which one of those lost freedoms is disrupting your life currently?

but the thing is, yes you may have the freedom to say whatever the heck you want but at the same time you have to understand that something you may say may get your face smashed in, killed or cause you to be arrested.

Just because you CAN say it, doesnt' mean you SHOULD and it seems a lot of dipshits have trouble separating the two, like the idiot arrested in the story.

I'm sorry but if it was me I'd have said "ok, i wont say that again" not get all pissy about saying what i want to say how i want to say it, when i want to say it.

Its that attitude that has given us a bunch of spoiled minded, bratty idiots who think they can say and do things they want with no consequence and then get mad when they break the law

"Idiot", really now? He doesn't live in the US so making the assumption that he must know just how touchy American officials can be about this is tbh pretty dumb. Not to mention that all he did was posting some silly things on twitter.

Officials checking out the story and detaining him (better safe than sorry)=ok
Kicking him out of the country and (as it is implied) preventing him from ever comming there again=wtf!?

Damn.... I concede.

It's time to abolish all rules.

That will give me the freedom to delete Smurfs account and never let him back on the forums. I am really getting sick of all these rules that restrict me from doing what I really want to do. Oh ya, then when I am done with that I can shove a stick up his moms ass and kill his siblings because I an free to do what ever I want.

i said earlier they overreacted. i never said they were right, but he still shouldn't overreact and whine when he says something that upsets someone. "Well you shouldn't have gotten hurt" isn't an acceptable answer in my book.

Just because this is america doesn't mean you should allow anything to be said. If someone had said that an stepped into Iran, he may have just been shot or jailed and never let out. Different rules in different countries. but whatever, you kids seem cool with allowing this country to decend into chaos and anarchy so you can do or say what you will without repercussion. Heck, I can't even call something "gay" anymore or some gay person will feel offended!

Will i dont want anybody who's a bad guy in a movie to wear black or be called the man in black, or calling something dirty black or refer to anything negative with the word black cuz some "black" person might be offended.

and while we're on the subject, i feel offended that anything good ro clean is referred to as white as opposed to "black" being dirty so I'd like that terminology to be changed as well because I'm offended!

there goes your beloved freedom of speech right there because once someone with enough money or clout decides to speak up, those freedoms are GONE.

The only true color or freedom in American is GREEN

Im sorry, but the first part makes absolutely no sense to me. Who is whining? What is he whining about? What is this "Well you shouldn't have gotten hurt" "answer" you are talking about?

Also, who are "you kids"? And the point of this statement "seem cool with allowing this country to decend into chaos and anarchy so you can do or say what you will without repercussion." seems to be completely opposite to the point you are making in the rest of your post.
First you say people shouldn't be able to say anything they want and then you say people should be able to say anything they want??? What am I missing?

I didn't say they could, i'm mirroring the thought process of a lot of this generation that they can say or do whatever they want and then get mad when there are consequences for their actions.

Take Philadelphia for example. There was a group of kids (50+) who would go around saying what they want, doing what they want, vandalizing, hurting people and when there was a curfew instated because of their actions, they got upset saying their freedom's were violated lmao it's stupid!

Ummmmm, that's the best you can come up with. Kinda like correcting someones gramar isn't it?

How about you answer my question....... oh that's right, nothing on that list affects anything in your life currently.

As suspected, you are just jumping on the band wagon raising your fists in the air -  when truly you are a rebel with out a clue or cause.....LOL

The rules you claim to fear are only affecting the people who cause the problems in the first place. Some common sense and forethought before engaging your mouth or typing fingers will keep people in the world from getting wrongfully accused in a democratic company.

Is it a perfect system, of course not. But it works 99.999999% of the time. Nothing you suggest is going to be 100% perfect. As long as humans with a brain and emotions are running things, you will never have 100% efficiency.

Give it a whirl Smurf, try to answer my question instead of correcting my gramar  Wink

To be fair, if you can be detained INDEFINITELY by the US military without any trial or procedure resembling that of a democratic law-based society, then something is seriously wrong. (On vaguely defined grounds of 'terrorism') The argument that 'you don't have anything to fear if you have nothing to hide' is often used by people like yourself and will only result in a slow process of freedoms being gradually abolished. Heck, if we don't have anything to lose, we may as well install cameras in every home, I'm sure that would cut crime rates by 500%. Obviously the concept of true freedom means very little as we are never truly 'free', but that doesn't mean we shouldn't fight to uphold the freedoms that we DO enjoy today. Terrorism is honestly a shitty excuse for taking away certain personal freedoms, and certainly for ignoring human rights.

You can ALWAYS gain more security by sacrificing freedom, but there's a point at which it simply isn't worth the trade-off. (Else you may as well advocate totalitarianism...) Or as Benjamin Franklin put it:
"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Quote
Most of Europe lost it's freedom years ago when the Germans steam rolled your ass. Then those Americans you love to hate so much came and saved your asses.
This is truly a stupid argument to bring up in this discussion. We can't criticise american policy because they 'saved our ass' in WW2? The US of A of WW2 is a lot different from the USA today, unfortunately.

nothing is affecting me,cuz I am not living in USA...kinda hard to get, right Wink

things that would affect me are wire taps, that can be done withouth court orders, email checking, law that  gives army right to detain you and lock you withouth any evidence if they like it, 'naked' scaners at airports that radiate you,TSA toucking my children on their genitals,TSA performing full naked body search on me and stuff like that...but hey, things like that dont matter to you, consider yourself lucky Wink

Only 1 of those they can actually do to you currently in the US.

And if your ever anywhere near the level of isolation for the army to be able to unlawfully detain you like that, then you failed epicly. If you were in europe in that much of a isolated spot then you could get raped by 10 guys and have no case against them.

And it truly amazes me that someone who lives on the opposite side of the world and does not live with in the rules of America can so boldly state that it is no longer the same "America" or that all of their freedoms have been removed.

The only real knowledge you can gain is from the internet or news channels. All of which is typically slanted toward the view of the reporter or writer.

It amazes me the amount of fear mongering people like Unknown and others try to spew on the internet.

For example: "you can be detained INDEFINITELY by the US military without any trial or procedure resembling that of a democratic law-based society"

Well perhaps theoretically you could do this, but why the fuck would you. The whole purpose of this law is to ensure a speedy process on terrorism instead of waiting for the 5 year back log in the judicial system.
If you just started detaining every Tom, Dick, and Harry, that really had nothing to do with  terrorism, then you would just create the same back log you were trying to avoid.

Those that decry the loss of personal freedoms in life are truly foolish. In today's wealthy countries like America, the maximum this stuff does to affect the individual is create a longer Customs and Excise checkpoint at the airport. But I suppose life will go on, and there will always be those that cry oppression and paint X world leader/power as the next Big Brother, while life in reality marches onwards as it always has. The only thing truly lost is the time wasted on many of these pointless and nigh-interminable discussions.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2009/03/19/guantanamo-detainee-innocent.html

http://www.achtungmeinung.de/?p=694

I also remember watching a documentary a few years ago where a man had been abducted from a country in Europe (I believe it was Germany) and put in Guantanamo for no other reason than his name. If I remember correctly his real name or nickname meant "The Egyptian" in arabic and supposedly this was common in people connected to terrorist networks. He never got a trial and he was tortured for years.

It's bad enough that this can happen at all, that it's a regular and common occurance is pure nightmare fuel. Thankfully I don't look like I come from the middle east and i'm not a muslim, but if I were I could be abducted and tortured by the USA for no real reason.
