So HP of a unit is measured in bars? Like Tom Clancy's End war?

I want to know about Armor values too.

(Does End War have armor values?)

All I know is I get a few tanks few infantry few anti air and i spam the shit out of choppers

I have no idea what the fuck im doing half the game but this is the most useful strategy i can come up with,

and I dont think there are armor values, the ruse engine didnt support an armor value system, I could have a MAUS showing its ass to a super pershing yet barely take any damage.

The warmap is like Dukenukem Forever.

No one thinks it will ever be released, then several years after everyone has given up the little hope they have it gets released from out of nowhere. And then it turns out it sucks.

Challengers have 10 Front, 8 Side and 3 Top/Rear armor...

This means any gun with less than AP x is ineffective versus that armor side, this means that most things are ineffective against the challengers front.

All ATGM's are at least AP10

Which tank has the highest front armor?

I can play some this Sunday DuckorDie, had to work the last 6-7 days, tonight is my last day, we can all hit up some WEE tomorrow!

Here are some stat screens of the units in the game, for those asking about 'armor' and attack values below (I just noticed, you need to be LOGGED IN to the forums for the attached screenshots to show up below).

I started playing this yesterday and slaughtered my way through the 1v1 automatch for a few hours.  I was worried it would be unbearably complex but actually it's pretty eays to pick up after having played EiR so much.  My strat is to spam the most bargain-bin basement army I can field (T55's, BMP1's, flatbed truck AA) for the Soviets until I control a few sectors and then bring out the upgraded T55's.  I haven't unlocked any high tier stuff yet but it seems a bit overpriced.  I find helicopters to be an overhyped noob-toy and I rarely use them except for rapid counter attacks if I get bogged down against superior armour, but playing 1v1 auto is an amusi9ng excercise in observing people copying and pasting dubious forum strategies.

BTW can we get a list going of EiR players with Wargame accounts?  I imagine that we must all be rocking the opposition after our experience in this mod, I want to play with an EiR super-team!  (I'm Mukip in Wargame.)

That your STEAM ACCOUNT NAME?

Mine is Charme23.

But yeah heli's are indeed powerful but losing one is crippling.  That's why I laughed at the notion that 'heli spam' wins that AMPM was saying earlier.  Had a game where we took their back spawn in the first 5 minutes of the game with an air-calvary player with an aerial command.  Moment he capped it, I brought out a crap ton of infantry and forced their artillery into the middle of the map, where after 2 barrages were totally cut off from ammo!  Brilliant game.

We were down by 1000 points for the move, but then they sent in helicopters... knocked 4 of them out of the sky (all the Russian Apache equivalent) and they were vetted, netting close to 300 points or more per kill... needless to say we won Tongue

And cheap units are good too, I prefer the American Patton as good 'standard' armor and will occassionally bring out Abrams for backup.  Superior tanks but I did have one game lost 4 of them to mass T-72s that engaged them at close range, punching through their armor =(

Yup it's Mukip in both cases.  In my last 4v4 game on Hell highway I had the amazing idea of travelling my entire ground army around around the side of the map to attack the enemy artillery.... took me , what, 15 mins to get there? (we lost) Whats worse is that a heli player had already cleared the base artillery by the time I got there.  These maps are huge.

Lol lionel, those choppers cost too much. UH-1C costs 25 and demolishes shit. Same with Gazelles.

The trick is to just target their command vehicles with the chopper swarm, as soon as those are all dead you win the game by default.

Anyway, lately we are spamming mass hordes of vehicles  supported by rocket arty.

Somebody tried that against my pretty hard, did nothing but attack my command vehicles with helis.  But the points you lose from command vehicles dying can be made up for by wasting the helis that attack if you have lots of aa.

Did you type your name out correctly lionel?

It's funny, I actually have quite the thing for expensive heavy armor complimented by tank destroyers and I think it's more effective than you guys make it out to be...

I think you guys might be underestimating how much firepower a heavy tank can, well, tank while you flank around with tank destroyers...
As an example, while the opponent had... lackluster skills in this game, I would have taken heavier casualties (points wise) if not for the heavy guns and armor on the tanks on that hill, it also drew fire away from the flanking 20 point Zhalo tank destroyers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88CopHGsTD8

But given, the opponent could have played better but dont think heavy armor is a waste of points.

(Note how the T80's were the only tanks lost during most of that tank battle and that they drew significant fire away from the weaker T55's and Zhalo's)

Depends on what side you're playing. The French are the best AT long-range troopers for Nato, while for Warsaw it's the.. Polish Skotama or something like that, I will post a screen of them when I get home.

For short range, basic US riflemen are your bread and butter AT unit.  Remember practically all weapons can be fired while on the move, and a hoarde of infantry approaching armor at close range (after being rushed and supported by their halftracks) will generally kill practically all the armor.  Mix in Riflemen with long range AT infatry and you'll either get him in close range or as he runs away.

Also don't forget the cheap 'AT' support units, such as Recoiless Rifle Jeeps and TOW tank destroyers (for the US it's a halftrack with a TOW mounted on top of it).

And Niko, heavy armor can be good, I just prefer medium armor for numbers. And btw, I don't know how you can stand the Sheridan, it's such a terrible tank.  I had 8 sheridans backed up by 8 TOW tank destoyers and 3 squads of 40man dragon II infantry wiped out by 8 T60s tanks because none of their missiles could hit.  I can see why the starship is another choice: the main gun is more reliable than the TOWs while the TOWs are more damaging.  Going to unlock them next to back-up my Pattons Tongue

Sherridans are armored ATGM platforms with excellent AI capability... Call them infartry support tanks  Wink
(They were designed as Airborne paradropable tanks, were the ATGM main gun made more sense)

You'll unlock the rather nifty M8 AGS at the bottom of the tree thou, it's a nice one.

Speaking of, lionel, even if you have more of them Pattons and Starships cant stand up to T55-AMV (The missile ones) and T64TB's (10 armor) tanking damage... Russian armor is more spamable that way Smiley

The M8... isn't that the Sheridan with no TOW launcher at that point?  I found that kind of an odd choice, as I am taking those guys for long range support of other armor assets that need to screen them light tanks.
