Yep, it's a classic =). I liked the part when he punishes one of his soldiers disobedience in a poetic and clever way.

Demon posession is real and it's not funny, it's the creepiest thing you will ever experience.

I would also like to add I watch fox news everyday all day and will continue to watch it while being proud of that fact. I'm sure you enjoy your communist news network just as much.

That you even ask that questions means you haven't watched it.

Just out of curiosity, what would the propaganda be aimed at? Who/what would it be trying to promote?

Well you could argue that it humanizes and glorifies.

All war movies glorify the act of war, and dehumanize.

All war movies glorify the act of war, and dehumanize.

Now THAT is a pretty *interesting* point of view

I could post a list of a couple of hundred movies that doesn't rhyme well with this, but lets do a specific one.

"All quiet on the western front" (either version). How on earth do you manage to make that one out to "glorify the act of war, and dehumanize"?

Now lets not let personal grievances get in the way shall we =).

What I would like to know is what kind of genius analysis computer has come up with here that lets him get through to the true message of this movie that somehow got past the 99.99% of everyone else that watched this film.

Propaganda for promoting a totally different idea.
All war movies glorify the act of war, and dehumanize.
Im quite sure I got a very different message from this movie, and like sach said, "All quiet on the western front" totally goes against that that idea.

Also how you use dehumanize is debatable. Would it not be actually more closer to our instincts as a human to enact violence upon others?

Speaking of propaganda, I found this definition to be helpful.

"Propaganda is neutrally defined as a systematic form of purposeful persuasion that attempts to influence the emotions, attitudes, opinions, and actions of specified target audiences for ideological, political or commercial purposes through the controlled transmission of one-sided messages (which may or may not be factual) via mass and direct media channels. A propaganda organization employs propagandists who engage in propagandism—the applied creation and distribution of such forms of persuasion".

If you use this one then "All quite on the western front" can be interpreted as propaganda due to it's anti-war message (and that it seemingly was created with this in mind). However, I find it difficult to see what would make "Cross of Iron" propaganda.

There are quite a few propaganda Films from Finland (wether or not they are or aren't is left unknown to me as their style to make it realistic as possible is somewhat working)

Tali-Ihantala 1944 (kinda plotless movie)
Talvisota (Winter War)
Rukajärventie (If anything seems the most propagandish)
Tuntematon Sotilas (The Unknown Soldier, Anti-war)

etc. They aren't that bad, I recommend folk to watch Tali-Ihantala 1944 to see Armored warfare. It was kinda interesting.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbOLHzMA78g It also shows why StuGs were bad ass in Finland. Look at the terrain where they have to fight on haha.

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.
