Demon posession is real and it's not funny, it's the creepiest thing you will ever experience.

I would also like to add I watch fox news everyday all day and will continue to watch it while being proud of that fact. I'm sure you enjoy your communist news network just as much.

Why doesn't that surprise me, in a country where about half of the population would support some kind of lunatic Christian conservative republican.

Only 53% of adults know how long it takes for the Earth to revolve around the Sun.
Only 59% of adults know that the earliest humans and dinosaurs did not live at the same time.
Only 47% of adults can roughly approximate the percent of the Earth's surface that is covered with water.*
Only 21% of adults answered all three questions correctly
And then when I posted video 'Americans are not stupid'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNHs0tYv_-I
people said, nah, those are only stories from few individuals. Now,I kinda dont think that this might be true.

He made a funny thread for bear, and got banned.
Now bear makes his own funny thread. It's unsurprisingly not funny.
Keeps died for our funny threads.

I'm surprised that 60% know that dinosaurs and humans never lived at the same time. I would have thought that there are more of those fanatic christians that believe in the alternative creation theory.

Honestly, it's probably less important how much the general public knows about science, and more important that scientists/engineers know their science, right? And as far as I know, America still manages a pretty good job with that.

Well, I'm guess that makes me as ignorant about creationism as creationists are about science.

Some times in the guestbooks in science museums (especially in exhibits about evolution or genetics or cosmology) you can find angry rants from creationists.

Most people know the answers, but if you jump on someone and catch them unaware there mind will blank and they won't know.
I am not saying there aren't alot of ignorant people, but its made out alot worse then it usually is.

agreed. tbh, that type of information gets lost on us as adults, it's like algebra, there's no reason to even know that unless you're teaching it or doing something really high end like a scientist or something.
as a christian, and as someone who is somewhat a creationist but a realist creationist, there's no way to know if we were truly around then. They keep on moving back the time that they thought man was on the earth. He may not even have been in the present state as we know him to be and yes I believe in evolution but only a form in it not the complete "oh we came from a blob of crap."
there's a possibility that there were humans back then and that they mainly lived in mountains or closed off areas where dinosaurs couldn't reach or heck even maybe humans were able to thrive along with them who knows, we weren't back then and science only knows what it knows. There's so much unknown that we'll never know in our life time, to count anything out just because there's no evidence is fool hardy.
Just remember, there was a time they thought for sure that not only the sun but the WHOLE UNIVERSE revolved around the earth.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

Also there might be a celestial teapot somewhere between earth and mars and there might be a magical unicorn flying around in the kuiper belt.

^ you just showed how ignorant you are. Science is more about theory and hypothosis, not wild asumptions or things that couldnt' possibly exist.
With science you start with "could this exist with what we know now" and you go from there.
so if you start with what we know know about humans and dinosaurs, there's is a chance even if slim, that they were both around at the same time.
look at these egyptian drawings, tell me if they look like dinos or not

The egyptians also knew more about the universe then us, its likely they had the skills to find and recognize fossils/bones easier and better then us.

sorry, but if you looked once at map of earth,or you even know how it looks, which alot of people clearly dont,it's rly not hard to guess that about 2/3 is water. And to not know that it takes 365 days to earth to revolve around the sun,I dont know,it's some of the most basic stuff, like 2+2=4...
You simply cant loose basic information like this with years, like saying,oh I dont know how much is 3x3,I learned that so long ago,and since I'm doing all calculations on calculator,I dont know it anymore...It's not that someone is asking you to resolve algorithms,it's rly most basic stuff that everyone will know if they went to school. On the other hand, maybe we just have better education here
