just because it's christian doesn't mean it's going to be conservative. There are a lot of "conservative" values that dont agree with christian values.

There are, often parties with christian in their name, but they're not nearly as conservative or predominant as they are in US politics.

Which predominant party would that be? The moderate Republicans don't want to change much, Libertarians don't want to force people to do things either. Both are conservative.

That's like saying that the Democratic Party is full of Earth First liberals. Which it isn't.

The moderates of both parties are pretty close to each other.

The republican party has been hijacked by the conservative christians. Just look at the candidates for the presidential elections. So moderate republicans are pretty irrelevant at the moment. As are libertarians (to be fair, libertarians have always been irrelevant)

Indeed. Look at how well Rick Santorum is doing in the Republican primary. They don't get much more psycho christian than him. The "moral majority" has defined the republican party's position on social issues since the 80's.

He did well in 3 states and epic failed in pretty much all others....the ones he did well in are the most fanatically religious in the country.

Yes. 3 states. Romney's got 4. Delegate and popular vote-wise, Romney has a huge lead currently, but the bible belt and the mid-west hold their primaries next month. Exactly the kind of states that will more than likely pick the Christian nut over the Mormon one. Trying to deny that the republican party isn't the party of choice for the majority of evangelical Christians (the outspoken kind that vote in every election in large enough numbers to sway the outcome) is silly. Birth control is their new 'controversy'. How exactly is the GOP NOT christian?

I didn't say they weren't, in the same way that the Democrats are fanatical eco terrorists right?

There are Christians in both parties. That's the way it is. The states that make or break a running are on the coasts, since their power is based on populations.

And which party caters to Christian 'morality'? Which party tries to ban gay marriage? Which one is currently making the big stink about birth control? Which party was it that pushed abstinence only sex education when that party held the white house? Who is it that the ultra-christian midwest and southeast support?

Now which party is it that consistently holds the northeast and west coasts but can still lose elections?

Of the seven swing states in this country only two are located on the coast. It's THOSE seven states that make or break an election. I assumed that was common knowledge... Apparently I was mistaken.

No shit there's Christians in both parties. Over simplify much? Are you incapable of seeing the details?
But which party is it that built its entire base around evangelical Christian 'moral values'?

Which kind of Christian moral values are you talking about? There are variations for each sect, region, etc.

OH! You mean the one that gets reported on the most, sorry, I mistook you for someone that looked deeper than that.

As for Electoral College votes, check it, east coast which include PA, Florida, Texas (coast) and CA.

You really think his wins in CO for 9, MN for 10, MO for 11 and IA (by .1% for 7) are going to be a big concern?

If were talking crazy christians with great political power, I'd say Evangelics.

Since they believe the rapture will happen in their lifetime it just fine and dandy for them if the environment is destroyed and a nuclear war threatens to start. It would just prove that they are "right" and mean that they go to heaven.

They have managed to get a president elected before and they can do it again. It would be rather hazardous for humanity if the USA got a president with this mindset.

Demon posession is real and it's not funny, it's the creepiest thing you will ever experience.

I would also like to add I watch fox news everyday all day and will continue to watch it while being proud of that fact. I'm sure you enjoy your communist news network just as much.

The number of Christians in America who identify themselves as evangelical is somewhere in the neighborhood of 27%. The vast majority of those vote republican and they vote in every election. Their influence was highly evident in the policies of the Bush administration and republican election strategies which highlight issues such as abortion and gay marriage. The only Christian group which goes mostly blue are Catholics but they don't have the voter turnout the evangelicals do. So yes, when you talk about Christianity in politics, you're generally acknowledged to be talking about evangelical Christianity because that branch of Christianity is politically the largest and most organized.

As for the coastal states like New York, Texas, California, etc... those states are firmly locked as 'blue' or 'red' states. Their votes are rarely ever in question. When all states which consistently go for one party or the other are tallied up they generally equal out in terms of electoral votes. That means the seven swing states (only two of which are coastal) decide the outcome of elections. I learned that in highschool. And ever four years election spending for presidential races confirms it since those seven states receive the blunt of a candidates campaign money.

Yes, because letting Iran have nuclear weapons sounds like an amazing idea to me. I'm sure they'll use those to promote world peace and everlasting love, while solving world hunger.

Oh, like where this is going.
Israel shouldn't have nukes either, but yet they do. It only makes sense that other countires in the region would feel threatened.

We didn't, the soldiers didn't know about them till they were stumbled upon. Hitler was right, if he had finished with what he was doing, they would have gone down with the Armenians under the, 'forgotten' category. Sad truth is, we only give a fuck because there were survivors.

As it is, we stumbled upon it, and shamefacedly remember Germany offering to send them to us, and  saying we had enough.

difference is Israel doesn't say that those other countries should be wiped off the face of the earth, or that their country should be a smoldering ruin, or that all jews should die and go to hell.

with that i think the other countries that hate israel are more likely to use a nuke than israel.

i love the stupid poltical double talk. one side lobs bombs, rockets and mortars in popluation centers on random and kills people and when israel has enough of their people living in fear and retaliates, the world gets on them so effin retarded.
