The oil that would flow through the keystone XL pipeline is already owned by Chinese companies, it wouldn't reduce our own dependence on foreign oil. Also, from what I understand, Houston has some of the only facilities in the world which can refine that type of oil, so it's likely going to be refined in the United States anyways. The only question is the means by which the oil gets to Houston. Which would probably be cleanest through a pipeline, but I digress.

The pipeline would make it faster to get to the refineries which is the whole point of it anyways. The effects of it wouldn't be notice at first but in the long run would definitely help out. Yeah, but an Iranian video would just tell us how they want to destroy the west and every non Muslim which just furthers my point on wiping them off the map. I know that most of the people living in Iran don't fully agree with there crazy twelver leadership but they can't do anything about it. I knew of a girl that just came from there and people from here family would just disappear and never come back. If you say anything against the regime or though to have said something, you go bye byes. With that said there are also super fanatics, just like in Iraq. Personally, I say we just EMP bomb the whole country and see if they want to change there minds then.

I could've linked a video about the canadian tar sand oil extraction process instead, but my point would have been the same. There's a reason why you'll probably prefer shipping in the oil rather than extracting it yourself. (Same with natural gas)

In addition, I stopped your video at the "everyone by now knows Iran is on the verge of producing a nuclear weapon or already has one". What a joke. I studied international politics, I am now studying international law, I do not take kindly this kind of onesided scaremongering bullcrap. Nah bro, you misunderstand what I say. Transcanada had already sold the oil to China. It's just coming to the US to be refined (like I said). And it'll come here regardless to be refined, AFAIK.

The trouble with Iran having a nuke is not that it will paint its flag on the side and shoot it at israel, but rather that it will give it to some terrorist fuckheads who will go all anon on tel aviv and blow it up. I think Iran would do well to just sit on it. That way no country can go all afganistan, lebanon, syria, or iraq on them and invade to stop them from fuckwittery. Like they could just gas their people and say if you try to stop us well deliver you a mushroom cloud pizza in 15mins or less.

Doesn't take a genius to figure out several ways nukes can and will be used despite it meaning the total destruction of your own country.

Here's a few right from top of my head:
1. Give the nukes to someone else, someone that both wants to use them and is capable of it.
2. Launch them if you are about to lose a war. This knowledge might deter people from invading you, but it won't stop them. Israel has been invaded several times despite having nukes for just such an occasion.
3. Rogue generals and leaders that are more interested in causing the destruction of your enemies than the survival of your own.
4. Use a single nuke to prove that you got them and that you are willing to use them. Then tell the rest of the world that you got more in case anyone retaliates and hope no one will.

Not every leader and general is a rational being. During the cold war there were plenty of generals that wanted to nuke the other side to oblivion even if they knew this would mean the end of themselves. Now instead of two fairly balanced superpowers on either side think that one of them is a minor nation instead and scared about what the superpower will do. People can make very bad decision when under this kind of stress.

The biggest problem with a country like Iran getting nukes is that you run the very real risk of revolution/rebellion etc. Pakistan is a good example of this (they are a nuclear power), and in the past few years there have been significant security risks with their stockpiles of nuclear weapons.

Iran is a country full of highly enlightened citizens, and they are from all appearances growingly increasingly intolerant of the brutal, fundamentalist regime that runs their country. Iran's government set that process back a few years with their brutal crackdown 2 years ago but you can be sure it's only a matter of time.

But when a revolution happens, it's very dangerous to have nukes sitting around. It's a perfect opportunity for gun runners and rogue generals (as in ukraine post-fall of the USSR) to take advantage of the confusion to get their hands on some weaponry they normally wouldn't be able to.

Some of these guys also don't have qualms selling to groups who are a lot less cautious to use a nuclear weapon than a country might be.

No wind this wouldn't happen its just not a likely situation. Even during a rebellion safe codes would generally be well protected. The problem with the post-USSR countries was a hundred percent different in which you had Generals disillusioned with an ideal practically left without a country and with no money.
