WarZ has the potential to be better than DayZ mod. Here is a list I made of how it's different.
Right now it looks like it could use some minor polishing though, flashlight melee and zombie ragdoll physics look a bit off. I'm gonna wait until the 15th of October when the alpha is released to see some nice gameplay videos.
- No buggy zombies
- Servers can support 70-250 players and 1000+ zombies
- Functional melee
- Progression system (only realistic skills)
- Better inventory system
- It's more convenient to play with friends and join a server as a group
- No hackers/cheaters
- Third person gives no sight advantage.
- Better nights. Visible yet still terrifying and a functional flashlight system. It was too dark in DayZ tbh.
- Character customization.
http://www.warzwiki.com/Character_Creation- Full developer support with regularly scheduled, free content updates.
- Single purchase, downloadable client with ability to play full game without subscriptions or requiring in-game transactions. Price is 19 dollars.
- Two Gamemodes. Normal and Hardcore. Normal: Saved stats and skills after death. Hardcore: Permanent character death, no crosshairs or ammo counter
- Player controlled economy.
- Functional crossbows.

It isn't a copy of day-z.
WarZ has been in development for 2 years. They did take advantage of the DayZ hype though and many things are borrowed from DayZ. Not necessarily a bad thing. DayZ was a great concept but limited by the Arma II engine.
