You are obviously delusional. Game looks to be great.
Ok, fanboy.

Also, my point was that a frontend marketplace is a hideous concept for a game that tries to be an immersive survival zombie game. No, you don't have to use it, and no not all items will be on it but that's also what Blizzard said about the D3 marketplace, the fact that it exists is bad enough. An ingame marketplace is fine, provided it's part of a real world set up, but buying stuff with useless currency (money you find in an apocalyptic world is always useless) outside of the game is just terrible.

Anyway, I'm sure the rest of the game can be enjoyable or even amazing, but until I get to test it or see some reviews, I will remain sceptical about this.

Edit: Oh and to have a game go from alpha (15 october) to release in just 1 month (supposedly end of november) isn't a good sign in my book.

I still think it might be a great game, as long as they keep their word.

But im a bit worried about people camping just outside the safe zones. It will probably end up like in dayz, if you wanna survive you gotta be a forest guy.

I can see your concern but that's not how the marketplace is going to work. The marketplace is mostly cosmetic stuff, it's more like a donate to help fund development and get this skin kind of marketplace. There will also be a small amount of food items etc available but very few people are going to buy these because it's kind of like if you start a character in DayZ and are offered cans of beans for the price of one dollars each would it be a good investment? For most people no. Because you would still be the same newbie survivor with a flashlight, it would not help you survive, it would just buy you five minutes of time and if you die you'd lose all this stuff that you paid money for. Nothing that you can buy from the marketplace helps you in PVP.

Another important aspect is that Safe Zones where you can access the marketplace are very rare, so you can't exactly just go buy some food when you run out because it would take a long time to get there. Also in-game currency will have little or no use in the marketplace. As I said, it's a player driven economy, money is only worth as much players make it, so the in-game currency is for player interactions like trading. Like you said money in a post-apocalyptic world will have lost it's value and most trading will be bartering.

Edit: Oh and to have a game go from alpha (15 october) to release in just 1 month (supposedly end of november) isn't a good sign in my book.

The game has been in closed-alpha for a few months. The pre-order Alpha is released on the 15th of October, followed shortly by the release of the pre-order Beta.

Sharks are not monsters Henley, they are cute, cuddly and misunderstood. They love humans. sometimes they love TOO much. They love people so much that sometimes their kisses separate people into two flailing pieces which are consumed by other sharks in a frenzy of peace and joy.

thanks for clearing up the alpha stuff pony.

i feel that i rather wait until the game is a bit further along, but if i get offered a free pass, ill totally give it a try, sometimes it's a bit discouraging playing these games early, but hey, look at how good EIR was in it's early stages.

Its 25 euro on steam. This is only a singleplayer game, so you can download it. Which I did, but when i realized how great game it is, i just had to buy it, to support telltale.

Anyway got the war Z billing bug? :p
Quote
Last but not least - billing bug - today bunch of people paid just once, but received between 10 to 30 keys . We thought carefully about it and here's what we've decided - this is OUR fuckup, and your gain. Enjoy your keys, plus I just ask you - don't sell them - just give them away - easy come, easy go

oh, well then buy the survivor version, because it's only 19 dollars and one dollar is like half a euro, so it's basically free Tongue

The alpha is stable, but it has a few minor bugs and some features are not in yet, other than that it's great. But it's better to wait for the Beta.

I'll stream some gameplay later.

A few minor bugs.... are you insane?

So far its pretty much a disappointment.

- yet to find cars or other things you can use or repair.

- no infection so far

- you can buy most stuff from the marketplace

- animations are really bad

- characters and zombies are like midgets to some buildings

- most bulidings you cant enter

- those buildings you can enter is empty, stale and poorly done

- melee combat is retarded, flashlights is probably the next best weapon you can have. When pointing at enemy they cant see shit and then you kill them with one hit.

- sounds are terrible and so is most of the music

- losing a lot of health when running close/on rocks etc

- A couple of times ive been thrown up in the air 20 meters and then died.

- I went to the locked part of the map, got over the invisible barrier, and there is no more to the map then what we play on so far. No roads, no houses, no towns, no nothing. Unless they have removed it for some reason and are going to add it later, the map is a scam. Not done with other words.

I'm sure I have more complaints that I forget atm.

And dont say, ITS ALPHA! like the rest of the fanboys on the warz forum...

There are no useable vehicles yet and interiors are limited, this is clearly stated in the FAQ. As for enterable buildings, I would say about 70% of them are enterable and the buildings you can't enter usually have loot in the garage or backyard etc.

- you can buy most stuff from the marketplace

But why would you spend your gold coins on expensive stuff that you lose when you die when most of the stuff can be found fairly easy in the game. The only exception is ammunition. That I disagree with. Thankfully it's only for two obscure sniper rifles and they seem almost impossible to find.

- animations are really bad

The running animations are a bit silly but it's a first person game.

- characters and zombies are like midgets to some buildings

No? Building sizes are realistic. Trees however are big. But who cares about trees.

- melee combat is retarded, flashlights is probably the next best weapon you can have. When pointing at enemy they cant see shit and then you kill them with one hit.

Flashlights are the worst weapon, they always lose against someone with a better melee weapon and they are not good against zombies. The only time when you get killed in one hit is when someone hits you from behind.

- sounds are terrible and so is most of the music

I don't think sounds are terrible, maybe the ambiance isn't fine tuned. OH no the main menu music isn't good enough?

- losing a lot of health when running close/on rocks etc

Yes, kind of annoying bug, but most of time you are not mountain climbing, so it's ok, just avoid them.

- A couple of times ive been thrown up in the air 20 meters and then died.

I haven't had that,  I haven't died of any bugs yet.

- I went to the locked part of the map, got over the invisible barrier, and there is no more to the map then what we play on so far. No roads, no houses, no towns, no nothing. Unless they have removed it for some reason and are going to add it later, the map is a scam. Not done with other words.

Let's say they have finished the entire map, why would they include the entire map just to have it blockaded? That would be a lot more for servers to handle. They'd have to load all this stuff that's not even gonna be used and even if they haven't finished the map, so what? you're not gonna be able to play the entire map until the beta anyways. Would it make any difference if they had finished it?

Basically, you can't experience the game in the newbie spawn down south, there are just gonna be newbies with flashlights and no loot. It's only when you respawn that you character is spawned outside of this little sphere.

In 15 days lol. I think it's incredibly obvious by the sound of it (I've been reading on War Z on several forums now) that this game has NOT been in development for the past 2 years. Which is fine you know, but lying about it is just sad. Unless you are going to tell me you can not get basic animations and zombie AI in order after 2 years of development? (With this being a zombie game, one would think that zombies are quite the priority) Let's face it, they threw this game together to make a quick buck off the whole day Z hype, and I'm sure it can end up being fun and stable several months down the line, but with a beta in 15 days and a release another +- 30 after that, I can't imagine they will get it in order before release day.

They even took the EULA from League of Legends, lol (it directly links to LoL website)l. Should give you an indiciation you how 'professional' this game's development is.

I'm no hater, don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the concept and I can only hope they get their act together, because I sure as hell will purchase it when they do. Having some competition between the two games is not necessarily a bad thing, it can only result in a better product being created down the line, and more choices for us zombie fans. But as it stands, I have a lot more faith in the Day Z standalone. I hope War Z gets some big improvements in for the beta at the end of the month, else they're in for a rough patch.

It's an indie developer and they have never said that the game has been in development for 2 years. The zombie animations are much better than dayz and the game is stable, I don't know what you're getting at.

I haven't read said articles, but 2 years in development can just mean the brainstormed and drew out ideas for a year or more.g

Please unknown eula referencing isn't new nor uncommon. Listening to points made by rhinocrunch is bad for your intelligence

As to the tree and building sizes it's not exactly wrong i mean go to a major city. And older forests do have big trees
