Just throwing this idea out in the wind.

What if each faction had only 1 doctrine, but this doctrine would be totaly customizable, meaning going from t1 to t4 you would choose the bonuses by yourself (from a presetted number of ones) and unlock units and abilities which you want. There still would be 3 tiers but  the tiers would have for example 5 different things and you could pick one of them for the tier, and unlocks would contain all the unlocks from one faction.

Someone could create a company with persh and rangers for example, or  kt and tiger........ You'd never know what you go against, we would see plenty of different combinations for sure having a more varied gameplay.

Would it be easier to balance or harder ?

like?  take also a note that there would be only 4 doctrines to balance and not 12 so actualy less work and not more...and the tiers could be universal, only the unlocks faction specific, much easier to balance.

I actually thought ,that you meant you could choose yourself bonuses from current doctrines, but only ones you wish :p

only unlocks,  the doctrine would had to be created new for the new bonuses but it would be EZ having the same bonuses for everyone.

Example:

tier 1 ( bonus, bonus, bonus ,bonus = choose 1 ) tier 2 (bonus bonus, bonus bonus, bonus bonus) choose 1  --> tier 3 (bonus bonus bonus, bonus bonus bonus, bonus bonus bonus) choose 1 etc etc

tier 1  etc

tier 1  etc

Exactly this gives A LOT of customization, for example you can take 8 t1s  , rangers t17 ab triage  recon mark target MI or  persh and jumbo add the bonuses which you can take by yourself and  create the company you always wanted to have Smiley

lol  Cheesy

I think the doctrines would be actualy easy to balance this way, create global 3 tiers for everyone

'attack'

'defend'

'support'

and have different bonuses.

If a attack vs attack company clashes, they will both do a lot of damage,   attack vs defend  they will balance each others out,  support could be mobility, buffs to teammates etc.
or for it not be a straight  dmg --> dmg etc the bonuses can be mixed up.

something like rock paper scissors.

I'd love it

When EIRR is finally more or less done and Luci is just adding luxury stuff, this would be a interesting mode to set for the launcher for 3 months or so when things have been stale

It would be a fucking hassle to create these damn bonuses. You would have to add another 300 rgd entries and make sure they are all properly linked to launcher. Then you would have to painstakingly apply all of these goddamn bonuses to the units that would use it. Then you need to make sure those 300 entries are balanced.

I don't think EiR needs that type of RGD work right now. Leo would probably suicide at the site of such a task.

300 rgd entries are probably now with every doctrine having different things for different units, so what you call 'a fucking hussle' has been done already lol, this would make it less, just saying.

Less coding, easier to balance, more customization = win-win for everyone.
