What should be our main server for DayZ?

I read somewhere in the other thread that the people from Australia could play on the Chicago servers which might make one of them a good choice.

I'll make this poll with a time limit and the server that get the most votes should be our main server no matter what.

Why we should have a main server?

Because we want to build up a base and get a chopper, cars tents etc that we can use for more then just one day.

Seems like I dont know how to make a poll with a time limit...

We, the pvp bandits dont rly want any server but an EU one. others have too high ping for good pvp. you shoot at people but they won't die and then they kill you coz of lag. very frustrating. everyone who wants to be survivor and explore more shouldn't feel the pain of EU high ping so much.

Considering we are 80% EU people I say EU.

150+ ping on chicago is really fucked up vs players. And ampm also had 150+ on it. So its fucked for everyone. We should make it nice for 80% of us on EU server and have a few with higher ping. People who are in different timezones as well so we wont even play that much with them compared to eu people. For example me, leo and dnice played a lot together now, all eu, and we are controlling elektro real nice and have great teamwork. And we are playerkillers so we need good ping more than people who just want to survive etc and kill zombies.

If all you want to do is spawn, run to town, shoot someone, die, respawn, repeat it doesn't matter which server you play on.

I think everyone agrees pvp is fun, some of us just want to do other things too.

I'd rather go with US, solely for the fact that at least on US servers it doesn't get dark at 9pm, I really CBA playing night time 90% of the time I'm online to play. Nighttime is fun occasionally, but certainly not all the time, or for hours on end.

if its eu, i cant play unfortunately.

250 for pvp and pve. 400 ping improbable and will most likely be kicked by the server anyways.

I mostly play during the times where it's night on EU servers and I prefer playing during daytime.

Ye Im 100% sure the ping is a factor in pvp. On EU servers with low ping the bullets register right away, when for example shooting people with a sniper, I did the same later on US server and it was fucked up.
I also died once in close combat on US server in a fucked up way. I shoot a guy with M14 4 or 5 times from 2 meters. I see the blood. The guy keeps moving, turns around, shoots me with a pistol.. dead then when I know im dead I see him fall down. Its retarded. Never go close combat on high ping server unless you rdy to take the risk.

Seems like most people so far want US server. Its cool. Ill still play on EU servers as well tbh.

You'll get used to the lag. Couple weeks atleast. Ive been playing the Arma franchise (Arma 1 n 2) for 5 years now and always been on American servers with 250ping, since the australian servers dont attract many foes.

I didn't really notice 100 - 150 ping in PvP to be honest, and I've been mainly playing on American servers. Only desyncs are incredibly annoying, but those happen on American and European servers alike.

I haven't noticed any problems with East Coast servers, killing players or zombies, no difference, no lag.

A bigger difference than where the server is situated is if it's stable or not, like Unkn0wn pointed out, constant desyncs and disconnects are very annoying. That the server has restarts once in a while is also important so that spawns don't get messed up.

Alright we got a tent and stuff going on in NY1.

I hear you set up a place skaffa, just showing this one too cuz i heard we still havent had a definite location.
Was on NYC 8 with Wind, fantastic server. anyways

this is the place i found, nicely tucked behind a mountain with lots of cover, a nice place to land the helio, some ground that we have tested, you can place tents there. we got a Huge military camp at stary sobor, wind can say how many tents were there. maybe 10-18 military tents? with easy to cover hill right next to the mountain so we can cover our patrols into the military camp. and also a close by water source! we also have the NW airfield, bandit haven but still, its close by.

That militairy camp near Stary sobor is pretty good. We've been there as well with chopper. I picked up everything and put it outside of the tents, waiting for new stuff to spawn. That way you can gather some nice gear.
Its far inland tho, really need transportation to get there. Me, Leo and Dnice are usually around elektro, patrolling the area and making sure the city is ours. 

BTW EU4 server is now up. It has 12 hours time difference vs real time, so its daytime in the evening when all the other EU servers go dark.
