I got into the alpha, i played for a few days, it didn't really feel like building my company meant a whole lot. Sure the base units affect just how your going to play, but the upgrade system is next to useless. Picture how in EiR you can upgrade grens with either LMGs or Shrecks, each upgrade can drastically change how the unit is to be used. You can modify units in End of Nations, but only with small damage or health buffs, none of which feel like your actually changing the unit. Actual combat in the game was nothing to write home about either. Lots of off maps, some of which felt far more useless than others.

Kinda wish they'd gone for something other than an MMO tbh, they made one of the few good starwars games after all

The rift teams security just got so bad, i forgot my password once and felt like i got the internet strip search with a little guard rape at the end. It kind of killed my desire to even sign up to end of nations.

Being streamed right now.

Looks alright so far.

Edit: Now looks like EiR is better. I dislike this sort of micro involved in this game.
This is coh + eir + wargame ee.
Edit 2: Looking at this more and more It is far different from CoH and wargame.

Sheesh, it's pretty clear to me...
It's an MMO made by people of the old school Westwood remnants, as far as I know, dont you remember how petroglyph was formed in the first place?
I snagged a key, we'll see but I have faith in those guys for what it's worth

Actually, holy shit, game seems to have modular unit customizing... in a non space based RTS!? DAFUQ!? It also has straight up Ion cannons ripped right from C&C generals...

Gameplay wize it still hardly reminds me of red alert or earlier C&C games though. I guess it is sort of like Universe at war, which I wasn't really fond of.

I like RTS games that are more about how position a unit and use its passive abilities (Myth 2 is a epic example, EiR to a some-what good extent) Then how you use all of your units active abilities.

Dude... I'm quoting you because yours stood out. But to everyone who says "Ripped from" "Stolen from" "Copied from" any C&C game. Petroglyph is the guys from Westwood studios. They made C&C. Then they got EA'd and went off and made their own company.

Did you read the post were I also said that I knew petro is Ex Westwood? That was nothing but loving praise in my case, maybe not so much for others Smiley

But actually burn, the ion cannons in C&C were 1 shot doomsday weapons, the ion cannons in "Generals" were the ones that carved a path, in the case of EoN they seem to be the path carving ones from Generals, that in fact was not a westwood game, haha.

Doesnt matter in any way, but just had to say  Wink

And for the record? If they make a good one, I'm actually rather hyped that they are bringing C&C back in some regard after it got so thoroughly crushed by a certain forth game that shalt not be named.

Generals was a Westwood game. It was the final product they made. EA bought the Studio in '98. Red Alert 2 and Generals were mostly autonomous titles with EA as the publisher. EA closed Westwood in '03 and started a reign of terrible RTS games ever since. My childhood died that day...

Thats why C&C Generals is good and the Expansion is utter shit.

The EALA office has produced nothing but junk. It's a shame that EA tries their hand at other things then Battlefield and Sports games. So many good developers either get bought or corrupted by shitty thinking there.

"Westwood" did not make Generals, even if they had some people on from the Westwood team i'm pretty sure the actual team was dissolved by then and the last C&C they made was the yuri's revenge expansion.

And C&C 3 was alright, not the best, but alright.
