So I have just about finished optimizing Sword Beach, so I am just going to shelve it till 1.9 comes out at which point I will actually put it through the testing paces.

However till then I would really like another project to occupy my time. I figured I would put forward my ideas and see what people think as I am having a hard time deciding.

I am debating between:
Utah Beach (which I know exactly what I want to do)
The Krupp Steel plant
Another generic countryside map (likely in Holland)
or if the other one was abandoned I would give a shot at the capital defense map.

Thoughts one which one people would most like to see. Whichever it is I plan to make it and epic 4v4.

Just let me know Smiley

What about a map in Italy? Anzio, or perhaps Monte Cassino? Even Sicily, though a few units (King Tiger, Pershing, Calliope, Firefly, Cromwell) would be out of place. Actually, look at the Italian campaign, some neat stuff.

Or a forested map.

Either Krupp or Monte Cassino.

Maybe I should start mapping, making Cassino would be awesome!

Italy sounds fun, but it doesn't really seem to be my cup of tea. I pondered over everything last night and I think I have my next couple of projects.

8p_Rheinhausen- Will be the Krupp Steel plant and the surrounding town. It will probably be 1/2 steel plant, 1/4 dock yards on the Rhein, and the other 1/4 Rheinhausen and the surrounding fields. I am thinking it will be in a state of complete devestation (a first for me).

4p_Pegasus Bridge- Almost decided to do this one first as I already know exactly what I am looking to do.

6p_Utah Beach or 6p_Liberation of Paris

Thanks for all the suggestions Smiley

Edit: To compact, I would definitely recommend it. My only suggestion is to read the relicwiki page ENTIRELY before you start, and be prepared to sink alot of time into a map to bring it up to Unknown's standards Wink.

Also I am thinking of making this my trial run of the wider vs. longer map. So the map will be really wide, but not quite as deep. Thoughts?

Edit 2: If anyone can find me a top down photo of the Krupp plant I would be eternally grateful. I have been searching google for a half hour to no avail.

Started Working on the dockyards that but up against the Rhine. Figured I would pass along a couple of screenies.

The map will be made of two main parts. The town of Rheinhausen and the surrounding farms, and the Krupp plant which is divided into three parts, the dockyards, a rail depot, and the steel manufacturing plant.

Looks good, but imo:

Remove one Krane Wink
Add more destroyable cover.

You coud make the end of the doc a easly-defendable position with the disadvantage of being a dead end (you have to retreat throw the attacking army). Coud be intrestinng and a typical howitzer posi Wink

Status=Reallyfuckingbusy Sad

But in all seriousness I am making progress. The real challenge for me isnt the actual creation of the map, but I am having serious conceptual issues of how to lay the map out.

I have a vague idea in my head, but getting the layout down is becoming tough.

Do I want a single slab of concrete, or do I want it to be compartmentalized with small areas of trees inbetween compartments?

Also laying railway track is turning into a real challenge Sad

but just to sate your appetite.
