they can detect mines it seems.  I assume thats not supposed to happen?  The 5 man squad, not the sweeper unit.

Im quite sure they are meant to do this. They are the weakest mainline infantry(if you want to try to use them as mainline inf) ATM when it comes to actual combat. So they made them do ulitility work like blockades and demos.

They are demolitions experts and as such are equipped with tools to detect and remove mines.
