College then go into Officer Training bro. Why bother with being a shitty infantryman.
Mysthalin believes being an infantryman is just like being a vanilla rifle or volk in one of his companies, the return rates aren't very high for the ones that hit the field...

You don't want to know what I do to the engineers.

You don't want to know what I do to the engineers.

You use them to recrew things and cap on the side of map if they aren't useful for anything else. All the other duty goes to the mainline infantry of yours.

So in US it is possible to seek to go into NCO and Officer training without former military background? Interesting.

Dude, it's possible pretty much anywhere. You go to officer training, become a cadet, get trained like any normal infantryman + bits of tactics, get assigned as a lieutenant/captain and occasionally major if you're exceptionally awesome.

No

Not in Finland is this possible. They accept Canditates who have gone through NCO training and possibly even CO training in the army from where you can apply to Military Academy and get yourself to a rank of Lieutnant and from there you will proceed further and be able to work for the FDF. You can apply to Military Academy if yo have at least gone through the NCO training, otherwise no.

I heard the woman in charge removed conscription from Germany. I mean Germany without a PROPER Military?

Hm a peculiar thing. You can actually try to APPLY to Military academy if you have either military training or second degree diploma. Times sure change

Shitty? Is it cuz they get shot too much lol? Its a pretty low chance to get injured right now.

Poor? Yeah enlisted gets pretty low amounts of $ but thats not what im worrying about. I only plan on doing 6 or 4 years anyway. I can make plenty of cash after college. And if I want to skip college and still be a soldier I would join a respectable private military company.

So in US it is possible to seek to go into NCO and Officer training without former military background? Interesting.
Damn I wonder your commissioned to enlisted ratio would be if a large scale war started. And yes, if you go to college you can become a CO, and we have a few different paths to get there. Like ROTC (Military classes during college) OCS (Military after you have a degree) Green to Gold (Already enlisted active duty go to college) and of course the best, West point academy, which can be joined while a civilian or enlisted, and you of course have to get a degree Tongue

But, if you have already spent time in enlisted and you become a officer, you get payed more even though your at the same rank and it will help you have the experience to get promoted faster.

In the US you can become an Officer with a college degree or equivalent credits. You become a 2nd LT, and get no respect =) Then you get to live the exciting life of paperwork!

The only direct commissions to higher ranks are for things like doctors, RN's, etc. Where their rank is not a leadership role, just a way of paying them enough to be in to compensate for what they would normally make.

To become an NCO you have to work your way up through the Enlisted ranks.

Too many people enlist with the idea of "how much money can I make", instead, enlist with the idea of doing what you find rewarding for yourself. You can always change MOS later or go to OCS later. There is no real hurry.

The officer is considerably better than a riflemen squad at carrying weapons. Officers have good accuracy so they will hit most targets.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

gaming laptops can actually be pretty helpful... i just got promoted so i'll be traveling up to 75% of the year. Since there is no way I'm bringing my full size tower with me and an iPad won't cut it for me a 'gaming' laptop would be great.

that refurb one ampm linked looks pretty good too but I'm always iffy about refurb products.
