http://www.naturalselection2.com/

You can get beta access if you pre-order it now,

and if you look up gameplay videos, it looks amazing, certainly a improvement from the mod version for the source engine.

The warmap is like Dukenukem Forever.

No one thinks it will ever be released, then several years after everyone has given up the little hope they have it gets released from out of nowhere. And then it turns out it sucks.

I was playing this back in March -- it's every bit as good as the original mod but even better.

I highly recommend buying it for like 20 bucks and playing the beta -- it's a blast.

Yeah NS1 was nice. It's partly what got me into Savage 2. It functioned along the same theme of Commander/Player.

This looks great

Don't know how you guys liked NS1
This.

I know i came a little late when i installed it 3 or so years ago....

but it had the most anti social community ever.

I think I was playing with bots the entire time. But most people had a complex name and used tactics.

So I went back to playing tremulous.....

I only played it on multiplayer last year

but i played it on singleplayer with bots when it first came out. I loved playing it when it first came out, it was fantastic! i thought how cool would it be in multiplayer (i was le child at the time)

Then i got a chance to player the multiplayer last year.... aliens were 50x normal speed jumping and flying and shit. Marines were to hard to eat. bbut what mostly disappointed me was how fast aliens could move... or seem to lag and appear in a few feet infront of it self becausei t was running so fast the server couldnt keep up. I would have enjoy it so much more if the element of speed was not part of natural selection 1. but that's just my own preference.

Get this, seriously, it's fucking great.

I think I pre-ordered this game in 2008, or 2009. Either way, I've witnessed the development process up close and they sure have come a long way. They're slowly sorting out most of the performance problems and gameplay is becoming almost as great as it was in NS 1. They've done A LOT to make it more accessible for newer players as well. (Not to mention they're simply a great bunch of developers that do care about community feedback)

I was a HUGE NS 1 fan and granted there's some changes in NS 2 that I'm personally still not entirely fond of (like the alien commander over the gorge building) it's still going to be an amazingly fun game to play. Not to mention that they have auto-download for mods and maps in place, and there's already a mod that reintroduces NS_COMBAT (Fun for practice and just fucking around in between the serious matches) and one that completely remakes NS 1 on the NS 2 engine. (So us NS 1 fanboys can just go and enjoy that)

It's only like 20 dollars, a real bargain for the countless hours of unique multiplayer fun this game offers.

Release is somewhere in October.

Also, there's going to be tons of tournaments and scrims I reckon since they're trying to make it e-sport friendly, so it would be really cool if we could get an NS 2 EIR team together. (Teams are generally 6- 7 people) My steamname is unkn0wn_ (look for me in the eir group) if anyone is already in the beta and wants to meet up to play, I usually play daily on HBZ or old ass gamer server.

P.S Apex plays this too Cheesy

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Ok so the game is releasing tomorrow (at midnight GMT). In case you haven't pre-ordered yet, do it now, because it's totally worth it.

For a quick overview of what the game is about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WVG2jcikrA

It is, not kidding, one of the best RTS/FPS hybrid games ever created. It's only about 22 euros on steam, even less on G2play (16 euros)
http://www.g2play.net/store/Natural-Selection/

Add me on steam if you're playing, I've already been in the BETA since forever, but I will be playing on release and I'll gladly guide you through the basics Smiley.
Also, the community is a lot better than it was in NS 1, and with so many new players jumping in tomorrow, I'm sure you will feel welcome, unlike your days in NS 1.
