Elephant?
«

I'm starting to think that this unit is as silly as this elephant:
With its sluggy pathing and horrible rotation I can't think of any force composition that the elephant is a good addition too.
16 pop means I'm paying more than a panther, it's taking up the pop of two 88's and its DPS vs shermans and cromwells is rubbish really, although it is nice that it can retaliate against the firefly.
Outright bad unit, but it has been nice to be able to test it.

Because a forum post should be like a woman's skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material, but short enough to keep things interesting.

obviously it is to give it the ability to fly, thus giving it better pathing, though it maybe decrease its accuracy a bit.

When the elephant first game into game, i used it a lot, i loved it, the ranged mad it so it was perfect for supporting fjs and such, but you had to have at support close by even thou the tank was good vs other tanks, the risk of getting strafed was to great

Killed Kipsinas Elefant today.
seems pretty good but once it suffers from damage engine it makes damaged engine churchills look like dragracers.

Not sure what it guns stats are but it should have 8.8 stats. Then again the tiger and KT should both have the same stats too.The jagdtiger should have a retard gun with long reload. I know realism in a video game, silly me but you should at least get it close to what it was.

Reduce the pop and increase the speed of this unit so that it can take it's place as a reward unit tank destroyer.

Speeds fine, otherwise youd have to buff the speed of every other heavy.
maybe loose 1 or 2 pop off it, to counter its slowness.
Its range is excellent tho, its like a mobile 88 that hits hard.

it's good with luft when you have panzerknacker,no fear of being swarmed with enemy flanking tanks, pop panzerknacker on him and that's about it.
Dunno would I use it with any other forces..

It's also pretty good with mid T4 TD with the multiple repair kits, at least it makes it still useful if stickies get thrown or if it gets a damaged engine.

It's not that bad at all.. I'm using one with my def company, I have lots of bikes with extended LoS (omniscience t4), so I can see if a flank is coming and I can be ready for it. And yea I also have lots of faust volks, so I can protect it from fast TDs..

Seems like everyone expects German heavies to all have panther speed and turret rotation.

Since the Elephant had some of the worst mobility of any German AFV in WW2, I think it's fine as is. It's a 60 range Jagdpanther that moves slower. 1200 HP, JP armor. It's a Nashorn that can tank much much more, can hit (and shit on) infantry, and is generally more damaging than a locked down nashorn (checked in the dev battle sim, the Nash and Elephant have roughly equal DPS when the Nash is locked down. With the Elephant, you have 40 less range (60 vs 100) but you have 3 times more HP, better armor and better AI capabilities.)
In short, cut the QQ and enjoy your free non-doctrinal JP that moves slower. Sheesh.

I want to ensure we have a 100% decision on the process before we do the wipe.
If not, then I wipe, then someone gets something they shouldn't, then it gets abused, then the shit hits the fan and then I ban shab.

Elephant was the nomanclature for MG-armed Ferdinands. The Elephant's CANNON is good against infantry, is what I meant.
