St winn is in the download list, no? Or it's called Foy, either way I never removed it so it should be in the list. Also when maps are removed they were also removed from both the download list (for new players) as well as from the module. (Though yes, veteran players will still have these maps in their archive folder)

St. Winn is still in the EiR module and it gets a decent amount of plays. A few recent replays are on it.

As for Linden, that map always had decent amounts of plays. During a certain period in EiR history maps that had decent plays were removed because they were not liked by those who had the ability to remove them...

I dont even know why u remove maps anyway.

Because we don't want the official map list to be cluttered with all kinds of shitty maps that nobody wants to play anyway. When a new player comes into the mod, it's better if he doesn't have to sift through 20 shitty maps before he comes across the one that doesn't make our mod or map policy look unprofessional.

If you would do some research in the depths of the EIR archives you would find that linden was considered for removal several times before it was finally taken out. I.e we were very hesitant about its removal because it is in fact a fine map, but it simply didn't garner enough plays. All of spartan's maps are absolute gems (at least from a visual perspective) as far as I'm concerned...

I heard RTC is still in even though noone plays it............And yeah where would this mod come to if people could decide what they want to play....,
Dogmatic shit tbh

There's a difference between offering people a healthy and wide variety of maps and outright drowning them in a list of every possible map that has ever been created for EIR. Also RTC is still in the top 20 most played maps... Maps that used to be popular at one point in time would obviously also stay in the mod, even if they (temporarily or otherwise) fall out of favour with the community. That's why for example Bastion and St. Winn, among many other maps, aren't going anywhere, despite them not being super popular anymore.

When we talk about removing maps that don't get any plays, we obviously always implied 'newly introduced' maps. (With the exception of a map like ardenne valley, which simply doesn't work as well any-more because it was designed for a no longer existent game-mode)

Yeah biggest problem of new players are the maps. They start to analyze them instantly.
