I think often this is used as a catch phrase for - I am too lazy to do it right.

However, I think with increases in chemicals, pollutants, social differences etc, the real cases of ADHD are becoming more common. I think there some people who really do suffer from this illness. Unfortunately they are missed by all the fake bullshit one.
Having met a lot of people diagnosed with aspergers (and related) syndrome and several of them are still my friends I can tell you that so far I'm not sure I could say that a single one of them was wrongly diagnosed. (I was placed in a "Special" class for milder stuff like aspergers and I believe HFA in the latter years, huzzah!)

So I've know more than a handful of people with this diagnosis over an extended period of time and I can't really say anyone of them was placed wrongly. For pretty much all of them I could give you a few problematic behaviour patterns most of them really couldn't seem to help. Knowing a few of them I don't really think it's bad parenting either as I've met several of their parents.

Fun fact, at least over here people with people with aspergers are often more well behaved than your average guy, unless their quirks get in the like that friend I mentioned way of course.

Anyway, as a side note treating mental disorders like these with medication is a fucking horrible, TERRIBLE idea... I want to really hurt people who think medicine will solve everything, idiots.

This forum and its dear inhabitants give me kicks I could not find in soho with a jar of custard and a gaping ass and small sign haning over stating " will take one for drugs"

Anyway back to sanity, this might come across as arrogant and trying to put ppl down but I believe that we share knowledge and impressions so here goes.

I have a bachelors in social welfare and social medical/behaviro study complimented with a honorary degree in cognitive psykology, and ADHD is not a crock of shit, Asbergers syndrome, is on the other hand getting revised at least here in Sweden, to be removed due to it not havin a non-unanimous proof of concept in singular disorder, but a combination of several others.

And also we are not int the social welfare system using the word handicap anymore, because it is a word derived from an old belief of giving individuals with mental/phisical disorders a status of 2nd rate citizens without the will or abilities to function. This is not true ofc and there fore the word disorder was established in order to ephizes that its only a dis order in a otherwise in working order body and mind as it where.

And Nikon about you having Asbergers... As i stated earlier that diagnosis is on its way as far as my colleagues inform me, on its way out as it where, so you might end up with a double or single diagnosis later probably ADHD/OCD or AD combined with dyslexia, or return to calling it a form autism spectrum disorder.

Anyway, if we then reflect on tanks statement about women,
I'd say I wold complain about your manners if u did not hold door for me to, so I can agree hat some women are idiots as u rightly say, want to have rights of men but treated as ladies, but its also the case that a gentlemen can be directed to both sexes.

As words go in general I do not believe words just derive for usage, ceriberal paulsie or CP is a medical condition but in Sweden for example during 90-ties it was used a as playfully term of beeing abit clumsy, got worse after while and boiled down into vile derrogative slang. Words are meaning less untill we give them meaning, it's our emotional reactions to the word that matters not if u think that it's ok, if a person is reacting badly then you should take that in concideration,
BUT
even so always tell the person that the word in itself is not what is causing harm, but it is the persona reaction and in so they and admitting reales of power over oneself and ones emotional control, because when someone calls u an idiot it can only mean something If u allow it to have hat meaning.

I know it's on the way out, but I don't see what would replace it. See, I'm definitely not dyslexic (I know two people who are, one is my half-sis) and I definitely do not have ADHD. Seriously hope you didn't think I'd have those, and refeering to me as autistic would honestly not be correct either.

So basically, as far as I know remove Aspergers and then there is nothing wrong with me anymore, I'm cured! Huzzah! That sure makes sense to me  Roll Eyes

I don't really understand why they want to remove it, for the people I've met and know that have these problems I could not think of a better way to define it that how Asp currently does.

'Well behaved' tends to be a more crippling social characteristic than most people care to admit.

I understand that there are medically valid reasons behind such diagnoses (though there is perhaps reason to disagree), but I worry that people let these sorts of labels define themselves in a negative way. Which is to say, limit themselves.

The problem with ADHD is not the diagnosis but the treatment. Many kids get diagnosed with ADHD because they don't get enough sleep, eat nothing but candy, don't exercise, sit inactively and watch TV all day and then as a cause of this have trouble paying attention in school. The solution is not to give them medicine which is essentially a smaller dose of amphetamine. That's not going to fucking solve anything.

Sharks are not monsters Henley, they are cute, cuddly and misunderstood. They love humans. sometimes they love TOO much. They love people so much that sometimes their kisses separate people into two flailing pieces which are consumed by other sharks in a frenzy of peace and joy.

Many kids also get diagnosed with ADHD because the majority of the psychiatrists are incompetent goons who swear by the ridiculous DSM which with it's incredibly vague symptoms-checker would make any sane person believe he's suffering from a multitude of psychiatric ailments. That and it's also incredibly convenient for parents of course to have their kid diagnosed with ADHD, I mean who wouldn't want to have their kid legally drugged so he/she stops being such an exhausting ruckus.

It reminds me a bit of an amazing documentary by Louis Theroux

Well as I tryed to explain its the fact that Aspergers syndrome, is so so rarely a single diagnosis, so often its coupled with others, and the dear doctors cannot agree around what brain anomalies that are only created via the so called Aspergers syndrom, or just by the combination of disorders.

Now I cant declare here what I think you have, and for that matter giving the information I do have, id still be hard pressed to be able to discern much of anything, but there are some studies that have shown a tendency to miss diagnose Bipolar disorders with aspergers syndrom...

Anyway In reality it does not matter, I was just intrigued about this conversation sort of driving up my alley as i where ^^

No not at all, im very serious, Bipolar disorder or also called madness or manic depression, has been sometimes miss diagnosed.

The reason being that the manic and therefore also the downer the person experiences can be mistaken for a combinations of ADD combined with asocial behavior of Asperger syndrome
