just incase anybody here knows:

My keyboard (compaq enhanced multimedia PS/2) has a volume control on it and before i reformated my PC, a crude volume display came up when i changed the volume, the display was like an older TV one (pixelated green blocks, not a solid bar) but now it does not come up, does anybody know how to get it back? *FIXED*

Is that where your reverb was coming from?

If you have any driver - Reinstall it.

w00t new problem:

for some reason my headphone jack in te front of my PC is not working properly aka the sound still comes out of the speakers... i dont know how fix it...

its is completely screwed up, when i run the "test hardware" for voice in sound options every system sound is played through the main speakers (even though the mic and head phones are plugged in) and then the headphones play it but as if it was recored through the Mic, (it is not a clear and high pitch sounds are very high pitched) but it can't hve been recored through the Mic because i have to shout VERY loud to get it to play back my voice...

Use the port at the back of your PC?
