I bought an i7-3770k, Intel Desktop Board DZ77GA-70K, 8gb Corsair 1600mhz,  7870 Ghz Edition.

Still installing stuff, want to play!

Bought parts, assembled myself, less exciting components are the TX-750m PSU, HDD, etc.

take a look at performance and benchmark for games with maximum settings (this page is german but u gonna find benchmark and the games):

the fps seems legit for me tbh.

PS: gonna buy a pc with this graka soon hehe

Working pretty well, similar enough to the 660ti but $50 less. It's a good card if you want performance on a budget. Obviously doesn't hold up against a 670, 680 or 7970, but it doesn't cost $400 either.

I spent a while comparing specs and benchmarks to put a good system together for as little as possible, right now the only things I would need to upgrade to make it top end would be the video card and putting in a SSD. I could increase the speed of the RAM, but from all my reading the difference between the 1600mhz and 2133mhz isn't that big. I might change that out though when I start overclocking.

The i7 can go up to 4.2ghz with the stock cooler, but I think I'm going to put on a Hyper 212+ and take it to 4.5ghz. The 7870 OC comes stock with the 1.1ghz instead of 1 but I think I can take it higher. Should be a lot of fun.

Spent about $1000 USD on the whole thing, including a new Corsair M90 mouse and K60 keyboard.

Exact Build:

i7 3770k
Intel  DZ77GA-70K
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600mhz 8gb
7870 Ghz Edition, OC to 1.1 out of box
Antec 1100 Case
Corsair TX-750M
WD 500GB 7200rpm Blue (I have a shit ton of network and external storage, so this is basically just for games. Will be expanded later with 2 240gb SSD in RAID and a 2TB)
Some LG DVD combo drive, it was $15.

Peripherals:
Corsair K60
Corsair M90

* nikomas strokes his 580 muttering "My preciooooous"

Not the newest on the block anymore and cost me a little back when I put this rig together, but it's a strong little beauty that's never let me down that's for sure.
