There's a difference between fully upgraded doc inf coy and "I bought 4 RR squads and that's nearly half my inf pool gone".

There is also a difference between "Half" and "A Third", this is without counting the reserve pool. This shouldn't really be a problem unless you're trying to build a company made entirely out of RR's and BAR's.

"You can always count on Americans to do the right thing—after they've tried everything else." The officer is considerably better than a riflemen squad at carrying weapons. Officers have good accuracy so they will hit most targets.

You'll be spending your reserve on simply getting rid of your fuel - it is irrelevant.
32/84 pool is between 1/2 and 1/3. I.e. Nearly a half, or more than a third - whichever the case, that leaves you only 52 pool - I.E. 13 vanilla AB squads to use together with that. Take away one squad for each BAR/RR you decide to buy.
In short - pool limitations are f*cking retarded on infantry and need to go.

Just because you're running blitz/ab/inf/falls, doesn't mean you should spam ONLY storms/rangers/ab/falls, or is this what you're saying?
If you decide to do so, you still can, you'll just have to pay for it in a lack of reserve pool for tanks generally.

It makes sense for AB RRs to have a relatively high pool value but AB riflemen are just riflemen with paradrop.
1 Riflemen with BAR is 3 pool 1 AB Riflemen with BAR is 8 pool
That's insane, they already cost more manpower and munitions.

Because running a company with just grenade airborne and a handful of RRs seems so game-breakingly OP, right? There is also a massive difference between running an AB company that buffs literally just AB (with only 3 buffs being truly combat buffs, the other ones being more utility than anything else) and crocodiles, and then comparing it to Infantry who happen to have not just ranger buffs, but also equivalent riflemen buffs and meaningful support weapon buffs. I'd see your point about limiting the amount of airborne if the doctrine choices were significantly more powerful on the airborne than comparable buffs in other doctrines. Unfortunately, they aren't. They're basically the same, except given to a much more limited number of units due to poorly thought out pool limitations.

The only things I'd understand pool limits would be support weapons and vehicles. Infantry is just plain handful and has always been cheap in World War 2.

No, Infantry are a coveted resource that is to be preserved. That is why they get all the support from every other unit. Ideally, you would balance through cost, and that would solve it.

No pool restrictions was one of the most appealing aspects of original EIR to me!
Complete freedom over your company. I also really miss the website based company builder where you could access it from work even and think about some good builds.
I don't think it's really unbalanced, every kind of "spam" has a weakness to it in the end. Oh well, can't get everything you want
Perhaps a compromise can be made: Allow us to build a company with no pool restrictions, but in turn add an option in launcher that allows hosts to host a "no pool" game, so people with companies that went over the pool limit can only join those. Maybe we can then see which ones are more popular and remove pool sooner or later, or just keep it implemented that way.

Tbh the pool is a nice aspect and guide for. Builds but is too strict on certain companies and there themes ie airborne and mandos. Themed Companies should be possible maybe by removing the vanilla inf when you chose to unlock ab rifles and mandos

pool restrictions limit creativity, and thus, fun. People should be able to build whatever company they want that is fun for them...

Either go no restrictions, or historic restrictions.
