We have been informed by Relic that there will not be a -dev mod in the near future.

Someone should inform them that quite a few won't be buying their game in the near future.

I'm pretty sure they don't give a flying fuck (Quite obvious given how they've lied about this whole modding thing) if we don't buy their games in the near future  Undecided

In hindsight, aren't we all actually quite happy they don't get to make homeworld anymore?

EiR took 3 years after release nearly. So I'm not concerned.

There are functioning mods out there without -dev, they just don;t seek to modify the game play so radically as ours would. You guys can keep playing EiR until we've got a working product.

No it didn't, EIR 1 was started on January 1st, 2007. COH 1 was released September 13, 2006.... We had a basic mod operational less than 6 months later.
Of course it took much longer for EIR to reach the state, or a similar state, it is in today but there's no denying Relic has been much slower with mod support for COH 2 than they were for COH 1. (Which was moddable from day 1 mind you)

Anyway, I won't be buying it until they fix modding.

We have been informed by Relic that there will not be a -dev mod in the near future.

Tank -dev was a way to bypass a system that didn't allow actual modding. It in itself was not a 'mod tool'. Hopefully we can get proper modding tools instead of a half baked community program designed to exploit the -dev.

Thats right, relic has never really helped the modding community we just forgot and let them fuck us again.
