Hey guys, I am omw to buy a new laptop, mainly to play with it some games.

I have been searching in internet, forums, reviews and so on and my options within budget are the next...

MSI GT70 2OC-059US
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CU9GLX4/ref=s9_psimh_gw_p147_d0_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1MYY9RHENP4RN7255JK5&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1630083462&pf_rd_i=507846

ASUS G750JX-TB71
http://www.amazon.com/G750JX-i7-4700HQ-2-40GHz-7200rpm-Blu-Ray/dp/B00DD0FPIQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1384449519&sr=1-1&keywords=asus+g750jx-tb71

ASUS G750JX-DB71
http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-G750JX-DB71-17-3-Inch-Laptop-Black/dp/B00COQIKKA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1384449760&sr=1-1&keywords=asus+g750jx-db71

I would appreciate some feedback and advices about this models, Allienware is way too out of budget to think about them. I personally prefer ASUS over MSI but I have red some bad reviews about in model TB71 sound and also the internet card only running 150mbps as much.

Basically looking for a 17" Laptop with a strong graphic card. 16GB RAM and a decent HDD, that doesn't get too hot running a game for a couple of hours... Any other thing I should care about?

Thanks for your advices in advance.

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.

Dont buy a laptop for gaming.

rule of thumb for buying anything.

Compact never means performance.

I have a gaming laptop and I have no complaints really... That being said though, there's no reason to get a laptop for gaming unless you have to travel a lot or live abroad like I do. You can get a desktop that does the same for much cheaper.

That is exactly the point... I used to travel and currently I am living abroad (US) but I am moving back to Spain in a month and most probably to Germany in 6 months so I need a laptop.

I agree that buying a laptop specifically for gaming is not a good idea, I will use it also for other things, at the end is a computer... if you have good memory RAM, great processor INTEL I7 4th gen and enough storage capacity like around 1 TB should be enough for working too.

I don't mind the size or weight, I don't plan to carry it everyday somewhere, just in case I need it be portable at least I will have it.

I appreciate your answers and advices, the discussion about the allienware is out of the thread please, will not add any value because I said at the beginning is out of the question. Focus on the 3 options please.

I got 2 good points... EIRRMOD (not to buy anyone...) and the other to go for ASUS... well I have 2 ASUS options very close to each other but one with a crappy internet card (150mbps max) but easy upgradable to 32GB RAM (2 free spots for this) and a free spot for extra HDD that could be a SSD one if need be. The other has all spots busy and I will need to remove memory or HDD to change for upgrades...

So any advice?

Also I would like to know what is better a HDD 5400 rpm or 7200 rpm. What is the difference between normal HDD and SSD? what about hibrids HDD.

Thanks for your help

SSD means its a solid state drive.
without going into all the techno jargon basically it just reads alot faster then normal HDD.

Well in that case, mine is an MSI GT683DX, I can very much recommend MSI laptops in general, they have some top notch gaming laptops that are equipped with proper cooling (which really is of the essence with gaming laptops) but I'm sure all three options aren't that far apart. I'd recommend you to avoid getting Windows 8 if you can though, it's pretty shitty.

Thanks for the advice XIICorps. Looking for a Windows7 laptop I found this one...

MSI GT70 2OC-408US
http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Series-GT70-2OC-408US-17-3-Inch/dp/B00EAS0U76/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

It is close to the other but with Windows7 and only 12GB RAM memory (The rest is the same but with 1 TB HDD 7200rpm). I believe RAM memory can be upgrade easily but I couldn't find reviews about it. I think for the same price more or less I will take this one.

Any final advice? Thanks in advance

Im pretty sure thats the laptop my friend has.
runs diablo 3 on high fine.
should run most games med-low settings.

12gb rams ok , tho upgrading it yourself I think voids the warranty.

Well that is the point, I will upgrade it once the warranty period is over, in US used to be only 1 year... So after that time I will look for upgrades...
