Holy shit this is fun... This is the first time since the DayZ mod I have had this much fun! Can already tell this will be great unless cheating becomes a huge problem.

is it worth buying, it costs 23,99 euros on steam , if eir players wanna team up i am going to buy it coz i had a horrible experience with arma 2 dayz mod. playing alone get robbed by nearly everyone.

If you guys are getting poor FPS around cherno and such, there's a bunch of great tweaks you can make.
Gave me like 20 or so more FPS overall.
Go to my documents/DayZ and open the DayZ.cfg file. Change GPU_MaxFramesAhead= and
GPU_DetectedFramesAhead= to
GPU_MaxFramesAhead="1";
GPU_DetectedFramesAhead="1";
Go to my documents/DayZOtherProfiles/YourName and open the YourName profile file in notepad (Probably should make a backup)
Find preferredObjectViewDistance=xxxx and lower the values. (Lowest point should be 1060, that was the viewing distance in the Day Z Mod, but you can also keep it a little higher than that)
Additionally you can cut SceneComplexity a little as well, I reduced it from 500000 to 300000 (Determines how detailed objects are at a distance)

I can never get it to connect to a server to even play. This is kind of pissing me off. Anyone have any ideas why it won't connect to a server. It just says "Waiting for host" for ever.

I get that on occasion, I think it's just based on when it actually last updated the server list and if it is up. I find I have the most luck on populated servers. |
