Wow, what a game, such drama.

As a Mexico fan, i dont mind losing to holland, woulda sucked losing to Argentina or Germany (again).  Colombia my new dark horse, they play so fun and free.

One more thing, Holland will go as far as that goalie will take them, not because hes good, but because his fail will catch up to them Sad.

Shit I forgot we had a resident Belgian here. What do you think of your team? Where the hell did you get so much talent from Belgium is so tiny it basically doesn't exist.

They bought some players from Africa.

van Gaal epic again
In this game the team started with 5-3-2, switched to 4-3-3 later on and ended with 3-2-5. And it all payed off, great subs too, again. tactical 10/10
So far all subs except 1 have been given play time, great teamspirit. manager 10/10

When they scored in 88 and then 94 min omg so niiiiiiiice hahaha YES!

You know I don't think it was that bad. Robben had a few decent penalty shouts and a stonewall one not given, the actual penalty was really soft but still just about acceptable. Hell he even stayed up on one of the challenges, that never happens!

Well the guy stepped on Robbens foot... Youre supposed to defend so the guy doesnt get inside the 16 box, this is what happens sooner or later, its a valid tactic. Mexico let this guy inside the box too many times, shouldve engaged him earlier.

Otherwise I think they should implement a 3rd warning card for the game like orange card or smt - for 2 or 3 oranges u get a yellow and so on and you could lash out that card more easily for example for filming or for small offenses. Now its way too random and harsh how it goes with the reds.

van Gaal epic again

Yeah gotta give that guy credit, to make that substitution in the 9th minute took some major balls, and conceded early (seemed to early) that Mexico's style was not good for Dejong's defense.

Also the tactical adjustments in formation paid off in the end, something that Herrera didnt do well, was like a different Mexico team after the score, part of it was dutch attack, but Mexico also played nervously and too defensively afterwards.  I swear when Persie came off the field I thought it was over.  The ability to change formations and exchange quality defenders with quality attackers reflects why NL was favored in the match to begin with.  No way Mexico can match that depth in terms of quality.

Still though its a shame that a penalty decides a game in injury time, thats like calling a foul on the last shot of a basketball game.  I mean technically its legit, but Im not sure thats good refereeing.  In any case, those kind of things tend to even out, so NL has used up its luck and karma can be a bitch...

I dont see Costa Rica beating the Dutch especially after the 48 cards CR received (i swear the Greeks plays the ugliest futbol on the planet), but if the Dutch get to Argentina then I think that's where luck might come into play.

Damn Belgium. bunch of testicle massaging giants.

Imo with all the injuries USA had cant expect them to do much, and all the hamstring injuries(wtf)

I wish USA would get some more youthfull players or at least a better midfield because zusi is assjuice and beckerman is a inconsistent hipster.

You know what was the worst thing about the game, that the US team didn't even wake up until Belgium scored...

You're making it look as if Argentina is already waiting in the semi-finals. With how piss poor they have been playing I wouldn't automatically assume that they will beat Belgium to be honest. They're the favorites going into Saturday's game but I really hope Belgium can cause an upset and reach the Semi Finals. If they play the way they did against the US (first 110 minute anyway), it's a real possibility.

Yeah Uknown, you're right, Argentina is not in not in top form, but you know they have quality across the pitch.  And, like the Germans, the Argentines just always seem to get to the semis.  At this point they are not winning convincingly, but they just dont lose to lesser sides.

I always cheer for the underdog once my team is gone, so I do hope Belgium beats them, but the amount of trouble the US gave them worries me.  Also, why doesnt Lukaku start, that guys looks like a beast?  Also, if i recall right, Kompany is out for the next match cuz of yellows (can someone confirm that?), if thats the case going in versus Messi that is bad news.

I think Kompany was yellow card free going into the game, so he's ok, not positive though.  Lukaku started the first 2 games for Belgium, then was pulled off at the hour mark due to lack of effectiveness, which was more down to lack of service than any failings on his part, with Origi both times coming on and scoring.  Game three they had the group clinched and so Mirallas started up top I believe.  Origi then started vs the US, but didn't score, so likely Lukaku will be restored vs Argentina.  Should be a phenomenal game, but I'm not sure Belgium's backline of four center backs will be able to contain the Argentine attack...
