Abbeville was the most played map prior to that and Abbeville 3v3 abbevile/winter 4v4 were the same size

He made a funny thread for bear, and got banned.
Now bear makes his own funny thread. It's unsurprisingly not funny.
Keeps died for our funny threads.

It has been the most played map for well over a year. In fact, eclipsing all other maps combined. If the skilled players of this community can't figure out what it needs to be a 4v4 with out playing it as a 4v4, then we have some real problems........lol
You're actually defeating your own point here.
You have skilled players (Skaffa, myself, others) who feel Neuville as/is is fine for 4v4 in its current state. That's why Skaffa submitted it as/is.
So they can figure out what it needs to be a 4v4, you just don't agree with what they've figured out. That's cool, you're allowed to not agree. But if they have an opinion and you tell them it's wrong, well, then they have every right to want to test and see which hypothesis holds true. Saying "you're wrong, you need to change it" and then "you don't need to test it to figure out what changes you need to make (or if changes are even necessary) because you should know why you're wrong because you're a skilled player" is the height of woeful circular fallacy.
Quote
That alone would tell any mapper worth his salt that you need to make a 4v4 larger then a 3v3, just like you make a 2v2 smaller then a 3v3.
Not a sound argument. Abbeville/Abbeville winter alone completely disproves the point you're trying to make here.

Solution: Add snow to neuville 8p
For the record, believe it or not but it still took me several good hours of work to turn Abbeville into 8p Abbeville winter. Though only because I wanted it to to look different. It is exactly the same map and was only made into a 8p one due to popular demand and the lack of alternatives at the time.

Abbeville would actually be a valid point if anyone was actually playing it at the volumes we are discussing here.
Again, comparing maps from days gone by, that until now s kaffa pretty criticized as being poor playing maps, seems a little like grasping at straws.
But whatever floats your boat. No one in this community is stupid enough to beleive this was the purpose. It would only take Xeon a few minutes to code in 3v3 gAmes on that map not counting. I am sure there would be no disagreement with that option

Also, on this subject. If it is indeed the exact same map there is no reason why there should be 2 seperate map entities. You can just make it a 6/8 map like some of the other ones we have in the list. If you want to play it 3vs3 just close 2 slots. I'm sure a map like neuville works fine for both 3vs3 and 4vs4.

Custom maps are great for play-for-fun matches, and I think it is great new maps receive some spotlight attention.
However, here are also people who like to play EIR competitively. For them, a consistent, balanced map is vital. Please, for these players, make all EIR maps be available at all times.
Example games that show importance of map design: counter-strike, Dota, Starcraft2, SSB:Melee
Thanks

The definition of skill is being able to play well on more than one map. People are tired of Neuville, put the effort into a new map instead. The difference between Neuville and Forest shows that as long as a map follows some basic criteria it can have the same quality of gameplay as Neuville.

I think there's a real problem with the passive aggression and negative inferences being employed in this thread against those who have different opinons.
People have often remarked how disheartening the tenor of this community is. It's time we started actually walking the walk in doing something about it.

Don't test me, skaffa, wind. I know you guys have beef with tank and tank has beef with you guys. Trying to lure out a "take sides" reaction from me won't work. Tank gets a wider area of swing here, and if you can't understand why, why don't you ask EIRRMOD why or why not we shouldn't give him exactly that? Guy has put out a lot of $ to help the mod and he has received a lot of shit on his table.
The above is not up for discussion and if you are willing to try a bit you would respect it!
And tank, thinly veiled diss is still diss. Cut it out!
And you can be goddamn right I'm in favor of the following things:
1) everybody shut the fuck up there is some growing going on here ->
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHiKDa4ip_Q
2) if skaffa reskins/makes neuville larger ofc it should be added to a 4v4 rotation
3) if he needs to test it for 4v4s, betamap->sga. Don't undermine the map rotation.

Nikomas I implore you to remove 4p_Airfield.
It is next to unplayable, half of the sectors are not cappable, and the rest, well, just have incredible pathing issues.
Guys,
DO NOT PLAY AIRFIELD
