I assume if everyone keeps it civil this could be discussed and fined tuned.
Indeed im not shitting on him at all, hes the only person to have done anything close to what we've been asked to do.

And with a decent amount of discussion we could achieve something from it.

this is how it was thought! Its a suggestion! It should be discussed, streamlined at some points rethought and then in the end we have result. (the best example are the numbers, they need to be checked by a balance team)

I am on few things really proud and would love to keep them untouched. (like my real terror doc)

The problem is:
Good try ick but alot of this reads as a slapped together mishap.
Things like that arent really constructive. We can discuss about almost everything, but tell me
A) where to find it
B) how it shifts in your opinion the usage or gameplay of that unit
C) and wait for my response plz

Again i am not claiming to have the perfect design (except for my baby), its a discussion basis, which i really like. Its there to be constructivly criticised and shaped. (especially the numbers)

Would new doctrine proposals be seriously considered at this point? Doctrine reworks usually kill the community for a while while they're implemented / balanced, and I'd hate to see the community dwindle even further. Still, I've written several whole doctrine proposals before, and I'd be glad to help out if my work would be seriously considered.

While it's exceedingly rare that a whole doctrine is taken for use when made by community members(read:never) they are viewed when reworks are/have been done.

144 abilities is big shoes to fill and pulling from community ideas can help. Even if not the way they were intended, it can get the engine moving.

Sometimes you guys don't know what can and cannot be done, and sometimes the ideas are so stupid off the wall unbelievable(para drop troops instantly decap territory they land on!) that those ideas don't get taken.

I don't know where the team stands on reworks as I've been outta the loop focusing on CoH2, but historically speaking, when we've done doctrine we have pulled and pick from any available material.

I understand all that, but what I meant to ask was if the devs were seriously considering a doctrine rework, versus balancing what we have now and / or working on EiR2?

I would say they would consider either/or  or a combination of both.

But a lot of it has to do with what Brn just said. Many proposals are way off the wall, too OP for free, or the key abilities that make it unique are just not codable by the skills currently available to the mod.

By the way, the dev team has someone capable of scar coding, so some of that could be possible. I would suggest asking xeoniz if he can do something before you try designing it in your doc though.

I personally can't see a community doc ever working. When has the community ever agreed on anything?

tbh: coh2 offers far more options for docs. At least my doc design would look totally different on the basis of coh2

I think that would be a waste of time TBH. EiR2 will be a slot based system with a resource cost. While some EiR:R abilities would most certainly be used, the entire flow & design would be different.

They're still good documents to grab ideas from though? Whoever sets up EIR2 doctrines can cherry pick inspiration from a full blown document.
