Alright, had a chat with Skaffa. Heres what we got

Recon units. For you know, recon. But barely anyone brings them. Skaffa pointed out that they cost to much population to actually warrant forgoing other units for sake of firepower.

On of two ways we suggested to fix this:

Reduce pop of recon units by 1. Give brits the bren carrier for scouting and 55 sight range. May or may not be transport able.

OR

Make units for each faction like recon tommies, so recon is still possible without loosing so much firepower for it.

Transport Units: Again, so underused, because they go from point a to b and are pretty useless for a stand up fight. Taken out easy, provides mediocre firepower. Don't actually have any ideas for this. Decrease pop by 1 or 2 maybe?
Ive always thought it was shithouse that the 3 factions get 2-3 pop scout units, while brits aside from mandos have to pay 5 pop for recons and a further 3 to give them jeep like mobility.

That being said, if transport units were to have a pop reduction we would see serious spam, as we did with M3 halftracks and its 50. upgrade.

How about this.
Make jeep, bike and schwimm 2 pop (omg has this too).
Bren Carrier gets bike/jeep sight and detection, can still transport troops, 3 pop.

Or just give the CW a Jeep.

Lets be honest, during the war they used a shit ton of them anyhow. Commando Jeep would still have it's place due to it's Bren Upgrade it can get which turns it into a little beast on wheels.

As for transport, I find Halftracks pretty fit for purpose tbh, just that the MG upgrade be broken (Unless it got patched somewhere in the wave of recent patches) which holds back their use massively.

The Transport Truck that was added ages ago could just get a price reduction if you really want to see some more commonplace transport use, and a minor health buff so that it can (Barely) survive a single ATG hit.

Could become a nasty strat if you made them cheaper and survive ATG shot. Couldn't you then just spam 3 of them into the front line full of dudes, jump out and rape the support?

If it could survive a single ATG shot, then you'd be left with 30-50 hp (Depending on brand of ATG) if it were buffed up to 180 HP... Where no more than 8-9 hits from any infantry rifle will destroy the vehicle, as the vehicle armour can be damaged by literally anything (Jeep armour).

It's a change intended to make them more appealing so you don't risk losing your inf to a sudden shot out of nowhere, which is why they aren't used now. That and 15 FU is still a bit much. It could be dropped down to 5 FU, or even just cost MP considering it has literally zero armour.

If you try and rush 3 of them at a line which has an ATG and an MG, chances are you'll lose all 3 of them, 1 at a minimum and 2 highly probably. Not to mention if every one had a squad in that's 15 pop for the inf at least and 6 pop for the 3 transport trucks. 21 Pop's worth right there, which'd get minced by pretty much any kind of ATG + small arms.
