Posting an update:

I've decided that I am releasing another new version soon which will not be final due to the fact that I personally found each side of the map needed more fine-tuning in terms of balance and to make it a little easier for the attacking side.

The next version will include less swamp, a few more buildings, a shit-load of new cover, more damage to the city, and details out your ass so players can utilize their super computers. 

I'm also hopeful that it will be easier for attackers in my next update.

UPDATED 03-15-08: BETA 6 ONLINE



CHANGE LOG 03-15-08:
-Significant changes to the huge swamp area, made more accessible.
-Added two more buildings, one for each side of the map just outside of town.
-The long swamp road should be more forgiving for the attackers now.
-A lot more cover added throughout the map.
-City details have been improved.
-Rural details have been improved.
-Added a few more sight blockers.
-Splats and splines!

Please let me know if you have any issues with the map or have any suggestions on what I should change.

I do wish to finalize Bastion within a few weeks at most, and I would appreciate any feedback, how did your battle go? was anything wrong with the map? what was your favorite thing about the map? do you have any suggestions as to what I should remove or add to the map? Any feedback, good or bad is appreciated to know if I have missed anything at all.

The next first will feature more damage on various buildings in the town, remove some of the town vehicles, more detail and a new weather option 'rain'.

I honestly haven't had a chance to check with the latest version, but I had seen in one of my earlier battles that there was this weird box-building (we call it the cardboard box) that was next to the road on the western flank, below the town.  Someone had put an MG in the building and the roof caved in (building wasn't destroyed, but there was a hole in the roof) and he couldn't take the MG out Tongue There also weren't any firing points at that time.

Is the cardboard box gone? Smiley

The map almost feels like it is a junkyard now.  I'd rather see terrain being used as movement blockers than the 4000 TT.

Well even I would admit I added one too many but there will still be a bunch in the next version due to the fact that they are good shot blockers for infantry.   Grin

More TT´s, also it gets updated so often i can hardly keep up ;=)

I woud like some cover in the town that doesent get run over by the first tank :I

UPDATED 03-18-08: BETA 7 ONLINE



CHANGE LOG 03-18-08:
-Removed some civilian vehicles.
-More building damage in town.
-Crappy wooden box building removed.
-More craters/detail near AA gun emplacements.
-Fixed some shot-blockers that could be shot through.
-Added bloody carnage to the swamp areas just outside of town.
-Shot-blockers added around the hilly areas on the sides of the map.
-Various elevation changes along the hilly areas on the sides of the map.
-Weather settings reworked, total of 4 options now: Overcast(default), Midday, Night, Stormy.

Please let me know if you have any issues with the map or have any suggestions on what I should change.

Aww shucks.

As a reminder if anyone has any thoughts on the map please say so, I know there is some hedges in the middle of a road and that was a small copy/paste mistake on my behalf.  Tongue

Any last minute suggestions or problems with the map? I plan to finalize the map hopefully within a weeks time unless some major problem is found in the map.
