Now that we have Zooks on Rifles, and LMG Marines, I'm at a loss for just how to build a Ranger Company. Are they Thompsons or bust, or has anyone been successful in using them with their LMG/Zooks?

Yeah, I'm also not a fan of the Thompson upgrade. You are asking a lot from a unit you spend 140 munitions on. Rangers a sturdier than marines as well, so, there is not much going on for marines in an infantry company.

A nade and some zooks or just vanilla rangers backed up by an officer seems like the best way to go. With first aid, they also feel like they can stay on the field forever if you can get them back to a triage. Now, don't take it as thompsons are terrible, but, they are not something that you need to throw bunches of into your company, 1 or 2 max.

All this being said, you'd probably be best off asking the better players for advice. These are just my observations.

I think what we are about to experience is a phase where some doctrine units just don't make a lot of sense with out any other doctrine influence.

The new doctrine design will be focused more on specialization than the previous doctrines. It will be then that you will see Rangers much more specialized and valuable. Using them now in their "in between stage" is probably a real bad way to determine their balance.

I am using thompsons for my sniper spam company. Create a blob of 2x zoox rangers and 1x thompsons and keep blobing. Sniper kills and blob protects sniper. Beside this i have tried spamming rangers without gun upgrades jus got nades. Not worthi since it cost so much pop.

Cant comment on balanced companies since i dont build them. But ezperience i got spamming rangers i feel sniper strategy is the best way to make rangers effective.

I feel like if Smokaz and Shab met up it would be a 50/50 tossup to see which one of them robbed the other first.

Shab in a nutshell lawl.

As for rangers I like to use them with thompsons+smoke or grenades+smoke. Remember that every infantry based company needs at least 2 mortars to put smoke for the infantry. With that you can go in with SMGs without taking much or even any losses.
