I agree, but it's hard to get immersed in RO because the graphics are such crap when compared to newer gen games. |

Graphics shouldn't dictate your opinion on a game. And even then, the graphics aren't that bad. I saw the screens for Crysis. I wasn't really impressed. You know what has the best graphics, and the most diverse and non-linear missions? Real life.  |

You know what has the best graphics, and the most diverse and non-linear missions? Real life. If graphics dictated my opinions on games, I wouldn't even OWN Red Orchestra. My crysis screens don't do the game justice to be honest. You'd have to play it - JPEG can't capture the beauty of good visuals. RO's graphics aren't terrifyingly bad, but the gameplay is stale and slow. Even in the larger servers the game can get to be quite boring to play. Honestly once you've mastered survival and aiming the basic rifle, you've completed the most RO has to offer. There's simply nothing else to the game other than the tank combat, which on most maps is particularly awkward. Trust me, I played competitive RO for around 6 months, I know how the game is. As a tank commander for axis realism units I got a lot of practice in the turret of a Tiger and a lot of insight as to how fun organized games of RO are, but public games suck serious ass. They're just not fun to participate in, and ultimately once the newness of it all wore off, it got boring fast. |

RO sucks, it just does.
It's a great concept but the engine is too outdated, and the gameplay in multiplayer is horridly boring. Trust me, I played it for about a year straight, it blows after a few months of the same thing over and over.

Darkest Hour could be one of the best mods ever made but right now you need to wait till they make a hot fix since a lot of people crush within the first 3 minutes.

I also have to put my two cents in on FH2. FH2 is pretty crappy. Every time I get on and play I don't have a good time, there is no teamwork what so ever, I bounced from squad to squad and could not find a single squad using the Voip or even giving commands. I had very high hopes for this mod, but it's pretty meh. At least with this Darkest Hour mod I know people from EiR will come together and play and work together. But I just re-bought CoD 1 and United Offense to play with my friend and his clan, so I may just get my WWII FPS fix from that. But if enough people say how awesome RO: DH is I just might crack.

Meh, if you play with a group or people you know FH2 can be a blast. Obviously Public servers won't have the same kind of experience. The only game where you can expect good teamwork, even on public servers if Project Reality . |
