Um, ok lets compare having a little fun with "building" a virtual town by getting people to open links, to cluttering a forum with adding useless crap or even worse, bigass images to each and every post you make.
I'm sorry if my town offends you, but you can very easily avoid this thread and definitely nobody is going to force you to open the link. Fortunately this forum allows disabling of signatures, so I don't have to see the same shit over and over and over, every time I open any forum thread where you post. I wish some other forums I frequent had the same option.
PS.
I do not have ill will toward you, just venting my anger toward the annoyance that are sigs.

You are correct. And if people could could contain themselves to a single link or quote, or a SMALL banner, that is for some reason meaningful to them, that'd be great. I'd still find them useless, but I'd live with it. However, on many forums this is not the case. When the signatures become longer than the posts themselves, then I think something is wrong. I will compensate you for the lack of amazing jokes in this thread with an old, but in my opinion still great, image:  |
