I'll no longer be lag central in like two weeks. Getting a new computer. I'm on a very low budget, so I'll be using a 7600GT (I have lying around), but I'll be rolling with an Athlon 64 X2 5200+ and 2GB of DDR2 PC6400. Yayz. No more lag!

7600GT's going to be your bottleneck.
(It's a very good card though)

Yeah I know, I'm getting an SLI mobo though, I could buy another one for like $80. Or now that I have a job I'll probably just get a different video card altogether.

Oh really? I've only used dual 6600 GTs. They were ok, but I don't think they worked in SLI exceptionally well.

Yes, not to mention that a 7600GT is as good and sometimes even better than a 8600GT, which is unfortunately extremely crappy for its price and pretty much killed the image of the "x600GT" series which have always been a "good bang for your buck" Sad.

I had to laugh at this:
http://www.legionhardware.com/document.php?id=637&p=4

I'd get -30% performance if I upgraded my 7600GT to 8600GT  Cheesy

I know, right. All the 8600GT has going for it is DX10, which I wont get until Vista becomes the new XP and runs games faster.

To save some money, I will just buy another 7600GT.

I don't think there is a PCIe 7600GT that isn't SLI. Although, now I'm curious. >.>

Newegg only has two, and they're both SLI. Unfortunately, my 7600GT is a PNY, NE only has eVGA and Foxconn. D:

Haha, that's a good one.

8800GT = over $200
7600GT = $80

Another 7600GT would be only temporary.

i'm in the same boat you are salan,  7900 GTXOC... BFG... problem is that those cards were only made for a short time before the 7950 and then the 8800 so it costs just as much for a second card as it would to upgrade to an 8800 x2 Sad
