I am currently in progress of hotfixing several relic maps that are deemed unplayable due to bridges or certian exploits...

Maps I have fixed so far
4 player Lyon
6 player Hedgerow Siege
8 player Hochwald Gap

Maps im looking into fixing
Hochwald Gap
Wolfheze
Vire River Valley

All maps are in eirmapfix.sga which will only require one module line. For now i am releasing a Hedgerow siege and Lyon to show some of the things i hope to fix.

Please note that i am not very good at territory mapping so if an experianced mapper would want to help by remapping some of the stock territories to accomidate Eir i would be more than thankful.

Lyon (EIR) (4) Changelog
East and west destructable bridges made invulnerable.
Footbridges start out fixed instead of destroyed.
Spawn points moved to top and bottem edges of map.
added weather options file to sga

Hedgerow Siege (EIR) (6) Changelog
spawn points moved to top and bottem of map
added weather options file to sga

Hochwald Gap (EIR) (8 ) Changelog
Changed spawn footbridges to bridges that vehicles can pass over
spawn bridges set to invulnerable
Changed north eastern foot bridge to vehicle bridge
added footbridge to mid east side. (invulnerable)
added weatehr options file to sga

Feedback or suggestions of maps to fix or what to do to make them more EIR playable are welcome...This is all i could get done for today..tomorrow i hope to fix Hochwald by adding a few more bridges and making them also invulnerable.

http://files.filefront.com/eirmapfixsga/;9661472;/fileinfo.html

Please note that the maps have been renamed to prevent confusion with the real stock maps and to allow you to still play ranked matches.
All edited maps in the future package will show up as
MapName (EIR) (# of players)

Please note you must add this line to the module file until Unknown receives enough feedback to realize it is worth putting in...

besides the two footbridges being fixed...nope...
im still deciding if another bridge is needed but i dont think so...

Red is for possible footbridge additions?
Purple is the invincible bridges..

I dunno, if you double spanned the middle bridge that would probably make it much much more of a fun map, the fact its easy to shut down itself is hard..

would almost be a better map if you filled in ALL the water and just had more ground between teh two places where you can walk anywhere, now THAT would be a good eir map Wink

k i think if i add bridges in all the red areas it will be a fine map...thanks for your input...ill have the new version uploaded tonight hopefully..after trying to alter the map i realized that this would take more time then i am willing to spend in one night so i am calling it off for a while...in the mean time i will tackle an easier map..vire river valley.

Change the Hedgerow Siege spawns to the corners rather than spread out.

Change the player on Lyon who spawns next to one of the bridges so that they spawn at the top instead.

Great idea, Bonte.  Do these fixed maps replace the originals in the maplist or do they add to the end of the list?

They'll add in, unless we get fl- to remove the originals from the list.
(Which he can do.)

Obviously the replacing maps and their changes need to be of the same or even higher quality.

I am adding Hochwald gap into the pack as soon as i test it to make sure my invulnerable bridge scar code works on it.
I added several bridges in order to balance this map out and try and prevent some of the major choke points that would harm EIR gameplay..please note that the previous maps included have no physical changes besides destroyed bridges being repaired and spawn points moved. Hochwald on the other hand has some additions.

note the footbridge from the spawn sectors on both sides has been changed to a bridge that is passable by vehicles and the footbridges on the upper right side was moved to the middle to be replaced by a vehicle bridge.

Spawn bridges and the footbridge are indestructable

i have tested hochwald and lyon just to make sure all bridges work and my invulnerable entity coding worked..i havnt tested the new spawns in hedgerow siege tho...and note none have been tested in eir...i hope to test them maybe tonight...i will release another 3 map map hotfix this upcoming weekend

also i would like feed back on wether or not extra bridges on lyon would be nessicary...i didnt really have enough time to do that last time because i would have to do a lot of height map editing and than would have to put relic quality detail back in where i add the new bridge in

Only if fl- confirms he can replace the original vCoH maps with these fixed versions and incorperate these fixed versions of in the eir download. (Since it should be a mandatory dll)
