People have the right (to an extent mind you) to choose to play or not to play.  What pisses me off is when we have a game set up, 2v2 or 3v3 and we need one more player to fill the last spot so we can get that game going, and then that player we asked asks who he would play with and when they find out they say no because they dont want to play with them.  That is retarded, you would have the rest of us sit around and wait for someone else to hop on Vent rather than join, play the best you can win or lose and allow the rest of us that have been waiting for the game have a good time.

Elitist attitudes suck, they will always be around though, there are many people (not saying specifically we have those here in the community) that have no real lives outside of "online", and so they thrive on being a "online presense" and their E-Peen gets stroked by knowing they do good at whatever it is doing online. These are also the players that really wont go anywhere in life.

So someone else stated it, and Ill state it again, let the "elite" players have their cake and eat it too, they are just digging their own graves.

Well there's a difference in being plain rude/dick and being honest. Wink.

This falls under being plain rude/a dick, Unkn0wn. Honesty would be saying "Dude, you aren't that good at the game." Bam, you were honest. Being a dick, which I know some people who do it, are like "Fuck this! This guy sucks, I wont play with him!" Bam. You were a dick.

Being good does not issue you a "License to be a ass" card.

IMO the "Elite" players are those that are good, and are willing to play with anyone, any time, no matter the circumstances.  There are very few of these players around these days.

lol this post is quite hypocritical. Sometimes I just love it when i see ppl creating a new thread becoz they just got really pissed about, instead of carefully thought through first. no offense commander newbie. u r quite a gd guy. but u do play stacked teams. u r being such a hypocrite. however, i must admit there r far worse players than u. i dont deny that i played stacked teams. however, since i am not  very active, ppl usually thought i am noob and place me in the underside. many times i heard certain players asking noob players to join certain teams. i mean i am not stupid. i know u r putting me into the weaker side and the favor is stacked against us, but i played on coz i just want a game. i mean i get ridiculous win lost ratio. well i fully understand y ppl dont wanna join the noob side. i mean we all wanna win. we all wanna get vet. we all wanna be the best.

But i just love it when ppl said that they dont play allies (but in fact they do)/ my allies company is recked / wtever stupid excuses, just that they dont need to play in the weaker side. i mean the noob players suffered the most, not gd players. So gd players really dont have the right to complaint. man my relic profile is absolutely shit in unranked. u know wts the reason is? its becoz i always played stacked teams and lost. Not trying to blame all of my losses on eir but most of my losses r fr eir playing stacked teams. i mean wt could a noob player do even if he knows that its stacked team. can he refuse? yes he obviously can but ppl is gonna hate him and its not especially a gd start for him. so he suffers this fate until hes gd enough for the gd players to include him. But many new players just leave, resulting in a rather small eir community. the current CP system also helps this problem since ppl with T4 is just plain OP. but hopeful 2.0 will solve this problem.

To be honest, i seriously cant believe u guys r complaining about it now. it was a problem. it is a problem. And its gonna be a problem. seriously i believe that now should be the best time for new players to join eir coz 2.0 is out soon, therefore old eir players should care less about their stats and should concentrate to help new players to settle in. imo this is a perfect time for gd players to help noob players since they could not do any big potential damage to their stat/fame. seriously y is ppl taking this so seriously when 2.0 is goin to be out soon anyway. y dont ppl just enjoy some friendly games and create friendship rather than create hatred. the creation of this  post is just ridiculous in a sense that the author wrote it through anger rather than after a through thought. there r just too many of this kind of post in the forum.

However, i am not saying that all ppl in eir r elitest. salan for one is quite helpful to new players. unknown is quite helpful as well though he does sometimes play stacked team. theres r many other very helpful players as well & obviously i cant named them all. lastly i want to remind all of u. this mod is still in development & for the mod sake be more friendly to noob players only through a friendly environment will this mod grow and succeed. anyway enough of my bullshit. just go and enjoy the game;)

Actually, it really won't be a problem come 2.0.  Or at least, it will be drastically reduced.

1. Punctuation. Do you even go to school?
2. You took at least 20 minutes, unacceptable for us folks who don't have all day.
3. You were constantly bitching about your brother uploading yet you kept hijacking spots in a game and wanted to play.

I do agree that if you join a game, dont make the rest of us sit around and wait for you for 10+ minutes.  If you join the game, be ready to start it within 2 min (and thats pushing it) otherwise dont play, there are a few people who are notorious for doing this.

I'm sorry but if he wants to make a point or even get a bit of respect he needs to start making better posts.
If I can do it, being a foreigner who speaks English as a third language, there is NO excuse for a native english speaker not to be capable of doing it.

It would be a whole different thing if he was a foreigner and did not speak English as his first lanuage, like Thtb (who does a good job at improving his english and punctuation btw), but he's not. That's all I have to say.

My knee-jerk reaction to the matter on-hand is that you cannot force someone to play a game if he doesn't wan't to, no matter if he is acting like a complete asshole.

Unless his dickheaded-ness if affecting the community in some way (I mean something serious, not just "pride" and "annoying"), there is not much you can do about it. If he is affecting the community somehow, just bring it up with the staff and I am sure they will solve the issue.

Anyways, IMO, you are all acting like assholes, by calling each other assholes. Name-calling never helped anyone.

Commenting on someone's else grammar is always a poor way to try to deflect or win an arguement. =/

As for the elitism.  It is bad, we have recognized this, and will attempt to fix it come 2.0.

There are players that will always abuse it.  We have some players that are classic examples of players that may be worse for the mod than better, simply because they are unfair when setting up games skill-wise, and are mean to players who play with them who are not at their skill level.  I know if I was a new player and played my first game with some of the elitist players they would likely not give me a good reason to play a 2nd game as they'd probably just insult and yell at me all game.  These elitist players exist in most communities like this one and usually represent less mature, highly competitive players.  The experience that usually changes their attitudes is if some even more skilled players then came to play EiR, and trashed the elitist players during games and only played against the elitist players when they had odds, the elitist players I think would get a taste of their own medicine and may behave better.  The other one is when people refuse to play with elitist players simply because their attitude is so poor.

Unfortunately that type of maturity rarely comes from anything but experience, neither of which will likely be solved by 2.0.

Obviously 2 wrongs don't make a right. =P  Regardless what he did, it's still a poor way to deflect/win an arguement.

I'm sure both of our grammar is far from perfect as well.

You're still missing the point.
Like I said, there's no arguement, I wouldn't have brought it up if there WAS an actual discussion but it's a plain useless post lacking any relevant content whatsoever.

Just like mine right now because we're all off-topic.

back on topic:
those "elitists" will eventually dig their own graves and no one will want to play with them other than other "elitists" which will only leave them with very few people to play with, so hopefully they will either change, or leave the community.
