Bah, you guys had to go and get my thread locked. Anyways, I'll restate what I think overall of the Officer as a unit and what I would suggest it be made into.

At the moment, the Officer is a jack of all trades unit with a nice rocket barrage. As long as there's a unit for a specific role, you can almost duplicate that unit by supervising it. This makes the Officer the most versatile unit by far. This is also the reason why I love to field an Officer in my starting company.

With the new changes to the Officer, I've felt it has basically been a buff with a slight nerf. The price increase means Officer become even higher priority targets then they were before. It also means you might not be able to field as many in a company.

This is what I propose for the current Officer.
500 MP, 325 MU, 4 Pop
8 minute cooldown on Observed Fire.
40% damage & 40% accuracy increase on Supervise.
10% ? (Not sure what it is) build speed increase on Supervise.
Supervise works on everything.

As you can see, this also makes the Officer a very big liability. It costs an enormous amount of MU, but can also project quite a large amount of firepower. Losing one would be a huge pain so the Officer will most likely be safe behind lines supervising artillery units.

Here is what I propose for the Officer.

300 MP, 225 MU, 3 Pop
10 minutes cooldown timer on Observed Fire
10% damage & 30% accuracy increase on Supervise
50% faster build speed increase on Supervise
Supervise only works on infantry and support weapons

These changes mean the Officer will be slightly more common. You can probably expect them to be on the frontlines alot more often as well. It'll still be a high priority target, though it has always been one. The lower popcap means you can probably field another support weapon in a starting platoon. The slight damage and accuracy increase gives you a nice boost in combat. Losing an Officer wouldn't be as bad and I still believe Observed Barrage should cost at least 150 MU. The Officer will still be quite versatile and everyone should be happy.

Let's compare what the Officer can do at the moment to other similar abilities.
Rocket Artillery - Observed Fire
While Observed Fire is more difficult to use, Rocket Artillery is a T4. I would say this cost at least 175 MU. It's definitely easier to use than the Goliath and the Goliath already costs 140 MU.

Supervise - This is basically a huge buff to any unit it supervises. It's very potent and powerful at the current state. I'd say 100 MU is more than fair for this ability.

In addition to these two abilities, the Officer is a great stealth detector. While it isn't as effective as a Bike, it's still useful for hunting down Snipers.

While the Officer can help project this huge amount of firepower, it has some vulnerabilities too. The most common tactics I've seen used is a suicidal vehicle bum rushing it. I admit though, the majority of the times when that happens is when I'm overextending my Officer or not providing enough AT on the field to stop them from doing so.

Boy, sometimes I really wish I had that extra Mortar instead of my Officer. This usually happens when my opponent brings out an unorthodox start. Ie. 3+ Mortars, Greyhound spam? (Never seen this happen but it could possibly overwhelm my Pak Gun), double armor start (multiple armor on the field at once). Using these kind of tactics, the enemy gain the upperhand by forcing me to retreat but then his capping power is heavily reduced allowing me to clear the them out using less pop consuming units such as the Panzerschreck Grenadier squad. I can usually regain grounds by myself at this point unless his teammate is helping him cap and then it's up to my own teammate to help cover.

Duvka & Soviet made this video yesterday, before the changes.
