Snipers are not uncounterable.  They have a high pop-cap and resource count compared to their counter.  Use more of their counter if you are being sniper spammed.  

Allied Sniper: 580 MP, 90 MU, 7 Pop
Motorcycle: 110 MP, 5 FU, 3 Pop

Are you telling me you are fielding 1 cycle per sniper?  Snipers are not uncounterable.  Yes, they can be a pain in the ass.  But buying many of them gimps your company and your team.


recoiless instagib bikes, and each squad has 2

u need atleast 4 bikes to suicide 1 sniper

ask puddins, 1 bike took 5 min to kill 4 snipers, and they are standing still

My calliope fucked his snipers up pretty good when I played against it last war, but he didn't have them supported properly.

Snipers are a huge pain in the ass either way, wether you like it or not though they're a part of the game.
I don't think their price needs to skyrocket, that wouldn't be a correct approach. The easiest approach however would be simply limiting the sniper to like 2 per company, that'd be a perfect compromise imho. Other units could be limited simularly if needed.

It's an incredibly easy solution to a problem like this.

Agreed it would fix the sniper problem, but how long til people say limit sturms and rangers and such? I swear when I first started playing last war, all I went up against was cloaked MP44 storms =(

Since I played CommanderNewbie quite a while ago, who vetted his sniper from 0 to 3 at my troops in 1 game (I think it was up to 3, maybe just to 2 and the rest came with the win or the next game) I have a platoon consisting of 3 bikes in every company.

The next game that vet3 sniper died because of my "CommanderNewbie-Sniper-killing-knights-cross-wearing-bike-squadron"  Grin and I never had a real problem - besides the "ARRRRGHLL DAMN FREAKIN SNIPERS" -> call in bikes - with any snipers anymore whatsoever

And those snipers where lower popcap -> much more spammable than now

(usually the snipers retreat offmap when a group of 3 bikes drives in range, 3 bikes do kill snipers FAST)

but i have to admit, remembering those "old days" of my EiR time.. I too made threads about how "OP" and "SO IMBALANCED" things are until I learned how to really play the mod.

If you feel like you should have won a battle, watch the replay (remember to save it after the game and dont just ragequit coh Wink )
You will probably slap yourself seeing things like, a totally uncovered flank for 20mins and stuff like that. And in 99 of 100 times youll say "well, damn, that was just played nice" and youll learn from it.

You don't have to worry about puddin's snipers anymore, at least the vetted ones. I read this thread and killed them in game with 7 motorcycles

is it the 4v4? when i see puddin joined the game, i immediatly added 11 bikes to my platoon, i suicided 8 bikes and i think i killed 2 or 3

bikes cost like nothing.  You can have 4-5 in each company with no real sacrifice.

Shouldn't there be an effective counter that doesnt consist of suiciding units?

puma and bike work good, but thats a lot of pop just to take out a sniper.


Today I had 3 grenadiers squads surrounding a sniper, and still took 3 losses while surrounding hte sniper before killing it.

today i have a sniper circle strafe my bike, the bike wont even shoot, and cant reverse, cos sniper is always behind him

I know that feeling, still trying to figure out how to counter 4 snipers in one area, without sacrificing 4 squads to do it.  quite painful, but also once you get to the snipers, there go the other 2 squads, by then there vetted and firing faster.  Yes, i would like to see a limit to how many shots can be fired, snipers should not be forward attack units, sent en masse, to mess up your enemy, there designed to be support weapon counters.

You guys shoulda played when snipers were 1 pop.   Tongue

Snipers are super high cost and huge pop right now, I say Deal with it suckas. 

Keep in mind that they take longer and longer to recamo the more shots they take. Focus fire, focus fire! Hell. MGs can and do kill em in one burst, even at long range.  Lost snipers before just because they missed their shot on an HMG.

ye, unfortunatly, snipers now are the mainstream killing units of the allies
they either kill you from safe distance, or lure you into a death zone

  I think what people need to realize as well is while its always useful to have perhaps two or so bikes/jeeps in a company for scouting and killing snipers.  That is about ALL they are good for.  Trying to keep eight jeeps in a company  just in hopes of killing massed snipers is a waste of resources.  What if they dont bring sniper spam? Then you have a ton of relatively useless units besides scouting and such.    What I am really getting at is this

Jeeps-Bikes= good for very limited things
Snipers= Good at killing everything besides vehicles, especially axis.

Trying to mass up a bunch of generally ineffective units just to prevent the chance of a spam isnt really productive

I think somehow a limit should be given to the amount you can field at any given time

I just watched the replay of the game you played and there's three things that went wrong during that game.

1) Lack of aggression. If you had just rushed in with a tank in the beginning, they would have been screwed.

2) Schultz wasn't a very good teammate.

3) Dual Nebelwerfers against Snipers and Shermans? Wrong counter.
