It's time to give ya'll some preview on my next map Wink.

The map was inspired by this image (and partially based on):

The small allied airfield has undergone some serious and successful bombing by the luftwaffe at night, as German forces have been sighted in the area as well, HQ has ordered 2 US companies to move in and protect the airfield at all cost. Failure to do so will give the luftwaffe another airbase, too close to the recently secured areas off the coast of France.

For now, it's a "night" map, although I might create a more "brighter" version later on.

Oh and, not really spectacular at this moment but it'll give you an idea.
(The surrounding area will have forests & farmland.)

2 more:

2 more big blank areas to fill up, then some final detailing, creating a second day version and I'll be done Smiley.

As you can see, the surrounding area of the airfield will be pretty forest-intensive, combined with the occasional farm and open field.

Indeed, insane relic-like level of detail. Maps like these should become the norm with a good mapping team.

curious, could there be a 6p version? Mostly I want it for 3v2s. This is kind of small for that, but most of the 3v3 maps are far too BIG for that.

when me and dragon93 were doin pics for the loading screen, we had  a vison that it would be better if the allies spawned in the airfeild itself with the two axis teams spawning ether end.

ofcourse some more stuff will be needed around the perimiter becuse tanks can crush those fences too easly, dragon suggested putting inpassable trenches in front of the fence to simulate a hurried allied defence.

also in the airfeild counter attack the axis should span in the middle etc...

what you think?

Well then I would have to change the map around because spawning at the airfield would mean spawning halfway the map.

In the night version:
the allies are considered the "reinforcements", trying to hold on to the airfield with the axis trying to capture it.

In the day version:
the other way around Smiley.

The airfield is not supposed to be a fortress Smiley, it's a small airbase.

Lol are you implying it's not fun? Tongue

It's pretty much final now though so can't go changing it around.
I like it and it looks great IMHO so I'm happy Tongue.

True, but didn't really think of it at the time, and I can't really have the airfield on one side of the map due to the huge "airstrip" area.

Which is why I just pretty much put it in the middle Smiley.
