Description: Europe in Ruins is a team-based mod for the WW2 RTS, Company of Heroes.

It differs from vanilla CoH in that you use the website's backend to create an account, choose a faction, and pick units to bring with you onto the field.

The maps are simplified, there are no resources on the map, just map sectors. The more sectors you hold, the more your population increases and in turn the more units you can call in. You start out with 25 population max. As an example, units like Volksgrenadiers take 5 population, MG42 squads cost 3 pop, while heavy tanks such as the M26 Pershing cost 17 pop. SO you have to take this into account when you make your initial call-ins.

-- How to play --
One team calls in their troops. They have 3 minutes to set up defenses, after which the other team assaults!

As you can see, you can pick some sweet abilities that fit your tree. For instance, the tier 4 ability for General Infantry is Tank Reapers. This makes your 57mm AT Guns absolutely SICK at killing enemy tanks (bonus damage, bonus HP, bonus penetration)

All games are organized through EIR's launcher. It is also recommended to have Ventrilo so you can talk to the people you are playing. It is also necessary for setting up games every now and then.

For now, only USA and Wehrmacht are converted, but Opposing Fronts factions will soon be integrated in 2.0.

Installing EIR does not alter your original installation of CoH as it uses its own executable.

The map also has a ton of community created maps. I looked into the mod a while back but decided it wasn't for me. The videocast converted me!

The community is VERY newb friendly, I myself am on my third week of play.
