I just had a game with that vet 3 calliope. Its just marked as impossible.
Theres no way in earth you can win that match. And i call upon the axis best players to go and have a try.

I just feel that that thing is so overpowered, any game wouldnt worth even trying it..

Nerf or no-nerf, i dont care what happens. I'm certainly not having another game with that thing. Its simply not fun, and unbalanced as drinking a coffee with 7 tons of sugar and no cafeine.

It´s not easy.
Here are some tips;

Storm troopers will always kill a calliope if you know how to use them.
As defence;
Use MI & find a weak spot, counter arty, stugs help.

As terror - try useing v1, but choose the "where" carefully.

General;

-Spread out, stay behind buildings, be aware that he has a 12 pop cap in the calliope & at least 8
 more if he defendes it bound somewhere else.
-Know the cooldown. Use the down time to advandce, then take cover.

Heh. Calliopes are mean, but it's more than possible to win a game where a calliope gets 60 or 70 kills. It's a lot of pop and resources tied up in a unit that can't do direct combat.

Calliopes have a large & nasty chance of taking engine damage when shot in the ass by a single shreck.

Yeah, against the top leaderboard calliope at that.  It's totally possible to win.  If you coordinate an attack you can take the calliope out.  Ask Prydefalcn (CommanderNewbie) and the rest in that game.  They coordinated snipers and a panther, and it basically nullified the calliope.

we tried that game, my dual shreck storm gets spotted by jeep, it gets immediatly barraged and killed by calliope, and he was near vet3

then i put 2 grens, 4 shrecks in halftrack, and i ran halftrack right infront of the calliope, the calliope turned around so i unloaded 2 gren squad with 4 shrecks and lauched 4 rockets

1 hit, 1 bounce 2 miss, i was like, wtf? and i gave up the game. there is nothing you can do about vet3 calliope, it kills everything, 80% hp stuh gets 3 hits from calliope and kapooom, 25% ostwind gets 1 hit from calliope and kapoooom, do you know what that means? it means it does atleast 100 damage on hit, which makes on par with walking stuka, but calliope shoots dozens of rockets, where walking stuka shoots 6, and 40 second timer is just lame, its like a mortar.
14 popcap is extremly low, KT cost 23 popcap and has no where near that fear factor


if its so beatable like what you guys are saying, go play them, kill that calliope and post replay, dont sit there and theorycrafting

The Calliope is vet 3, no shit it does tons of damage. The current vet gives it +25% at vet2 and +25% at vet3.

14 popcap is extremly low, KT cost 23 popcap and has no where near that fear factor


the KT does have a fear factor when it is rightly supported.  The Calliope is way to low in its popcap for its potency and easy to move around and survive attacks unlike its other potent friend the howitzer which dies to anything that can take a swipe at it.

i killed a few in last war with v1, but v1 is not the best counter to calliope

if KT is 14 pop, then its balanced, because you can have it in first call in, while have enough infantry support to keep it safe, but its 23 pop


calliope needs to be 20 popcap, so you cannot get it in first call in, or you can, but you will have to rely on your team mate for support

i just cant imaging something that is more terrifying than KT, cost about the same as a panther, but only 2 popcap more than a pz4

I don't think so, when walking stukas are how much? Seven? While they are weaker, and more easily killed (especially against Airbourne RR's), it's a good trade-off, with better speed, faster cooldown, and lower price & popcap.

Thanks Brad, as my 2v2 Tournament partner, I would expect that you wouldn't give away tactics that undermine our strategies....

Vet3 Calliopes are killable. Ain't that right Stuart.

You just have to have a specific strategy at the ready against stuff like that. One specialised platoon can be enough.

lol not like our team has stradgy apart from throwing riflemen shermans crocs airbournes and calliope barrages at the enemys
