Dear the Europe in Ruins Community.
I am Akranadas, and I am the Moderator of this community. If your wondering what a Moderator actually does then I shall tell you. I basically keep the peace in the community, I look after threads and clean up some of the garbage that collects in some threads, I also help keep the Ventirlo Server in harmony.
Yet, Lately my job has got quite a bit harder and a whole lot more frustrating, why might you ask? Well, it because members of this community can't seem to be able to follow a simple list of
guidelines while using the forums or ventirlo. This has begun to get on my nerves quite a bit to be honest and I think I have let things slip to far for to long.
This includes the serious level of flaming on the forums, constant derailing of threads, and the newest thing; griefing players on ventirlo and the forums. Not only does this look bad on my part, but also on us as a community as a whole, you are all representatives of Europe in Ruins as a mod; and all of you should act with a level of decency and respect for each other. Currently I am not seeing enough of either of those and it's worrying me quite a lot because it only points out how much I have failed in monitoring this community and thus I am failing in my job as a Moderator.
So I feel it is time, not to step down; Oh no, I don't quit that easy I'm afraid. It's time for all of you to shape up and curve your attitudes towards each other. Because frankly, I am sure we are all sick of seeing people constantly bitching about each other on the forums, because I know that I am. Thus I will be taking new measures to ensure that you all will adhere to the guidelines I set out months ago. These aren't hard to follow and if you know you are doing nothing wrong then it won't affect you in one bit. It's only going to affect the serial offenders who constantly break the
guidelines; but they won't be getting away with it anymore.
As of now the following things shall happen if you break the rules.
- Flaming/Attacking - If you flame someone,your post will be deleted; no matter how long your post is, attack someone and I am just going to delete it. I won't care if you spent 3 hours typing up that awesome stats chart. Flame = Delete. Simple
- Derailing Threads - Your posts will be deleted. Don't even try to do it, because it takes me less than 3 seconds to delete posts, so its no skin of my nose
- Greifing - Purposely setting out to discredit someone in the community and I will delete your posts on that subject. This goes for people who would post things like "Don't play with X". If this happens on Vent, then I will take you into a private channel and yell at you.
- Harassing - Any form of Harassment; Here or on Vent will end with the same type of actions I have already listed.
I think that those plus the original
guidelines should be simple to follow, and I am sure you all can do that. If you can, I bet we can actually make this community better and thus attract more and more players into the wonderful game of Europe in Ruins.
