Because I (and most others) don't want to spend an hour and a half reading subtitles?

It will be dubbed, there is a significant difference!
If you can't read subtitles quick enough then go back to school! Man, i am from Norway subtitles are everywhere, why shouldn't you english speaking people get to read subtitles when the movie is about a german after all?

Wait, I don't get what you're saying. In the German version, they will, indeed, be dubbed, just like every other American movie. Or are you asking for the movie be filmed in german and they dubbed for us?

If a movie is going to depict a German war Hero, then i want the movie to be in german and be subtitled for whatever other language the audiences use.

And to that I answer that there is a very small percentage of people that want to read subtitles for an hour and a hlaf, an issue you have no addressed.

If it is an American film, made primarily to make money from an American audience, why would the film makers choose to make it less main stream?
You are suggesting that they make less money in order to pander to a foreign market where it is unlikely they will make nearly as much as the film will gross in the US.
Not good business unfortunately.

Two wrongs do not make a right. Besides, english is not my maternal language; it's french. We have plenty of dubbed movies, even though my English is good enough that I can watch English movies without a problem. Personally, I prefer voice-overs to subtitles,
because I don't feel like reading subtitles during an hour and a half
.
It's not about not being able to read fast enough (I read fast enough, thanks for your concern), it's about not wanting to be distracted from the actual movie (scenery, acting, special effects, and so on) by having to spend half your time reading the dialogs.
Another thing; the fact that Richtofen was german changes nothing. Should we do movies about Ghandi in Hindi, or should 300 have been shot in Greek? What about ones about Stalin, Admiral Yamamoto, or any other important figures which didn't come from English-speaking countries? Heck, why do characters in movies about old English or Americans personalities speak modern English, and not epoch-accurate English?

Yes, why not? I would prefer it over the way it is now any day. It creates atmosphere, ever heard of it? A movie with a good atmosphere makes it more interesting.
I would prefer movies about Stalin to be in Russian, movies about Japanese people in Japanese.
