Why bother? The m8 is useless without skirts. It's like removing the muni cost from KCH, and having them buy Mp44s for 140 mun

Undecided what he said, it's sad really.

According to allied war machine the greyhound is a tank. I always wondered the specifics of armor company bonuses, I mean the wolverine isn't a tank, it's an anti-tank.

My available companies:
Allies:
*AB company going for raid assault
  Infantry going for tank reapers
Axis:
*Defensive going for rocket artillery
  Blitz going for lightning war
And an experimental Terror company going for subversion consisting of all volks and two King Tigers

Greyhound is also getting hit with a nerf in the next patch.

Quote
- US M8 Greyhound and Wehrmacht SdKfz 234 Armoured cars have had their target accuracy modifiers reduced from 0.73 and 0.82 respectively to .9.
- US M8 Greyhound and SdKfz 234 Armoured Cars moving accuracy modifiers changed from 0.6 to 0.8.
- Light vehicle received accuracy modifier on light engine damage critical changed from 1.25 to 1.35.

Yeah, but the puma is too, so its not so bad. Plus I believe they can hit things better while moving now, which is kind of a buff.

I'm no expert on CoH statistics but I believe that nerf/buff means is that they are easier to hit by moving things like tanks. So Panthers and Shermans will deal with them better. They also might, not to sure, hit things more reliably them selves while moving.

Making them easier to kill even further tips them over into the impractical to field category right beside M10s.

Wunderbar!

I like them because it will make Pumas easier to kill and hopefully force the EiR devs to make the greyhound more cost effective.

No Guardsman, the accuracy moving modifiers are against the M8/Puma.

Now:  PzIV at 'Short' range against a moving Greyhound...

Quote
1 (Standard Accuracy) x .73 (Accuracy Modifier vs. M8) x .6 (Accuracy Moving Modifier vs. M8) = 43.8% to hit.

After: PzIV at 'Short' range against a moving Greyhound...

1 (Standard Accuracy) x .9 (Accuracy Modifier vs. M8) x .8 (Accuracy Moving Modifier vs. M8) = 72% to hit.

That's a HUGE nerf against M8's and Pumas, because the only thing that kept them alive was the fact that they could evade fire.

Well then I can almost smell the price reduction in skirts already!

On the contrary, it may mean Skirts will become more expensive or stay where they are, while the actual unit goes down in price. Though that's speculation and I'm pretty sure armored cars in general will go down in price. This will be great news though. Puma/Greyhound spam will become much much less viable.

The unit it self is 230 man power and 65 fuel, it doesn't need its base cost lowered. Its slightly more man power than a rifle squad and costs only 65 fuel. It doesn't need a base cost decrees because its already cost effective in that regard. Where it is ineffective is in its upgrade and population cost, which make it a cumbersome and resource intensive unit to field.

The only use I've found for them is to suicide them angst Tiger tanks with mines to give them engine damage. That is admittedly is the swan song or death note for the tiger tank and it comes at a cheap cost. Personally I don't like havening M8's in my army who's sole purpose is to run up to a tank and blow it self up.

What is this Command and Conquer?!

Whats wrong with this picture? Is it that for a similar amount of man power, and significantly less fuel you can get a Quad Half track for 5 population cap? Is the problem perhaps that a Quad can take a pak38 shot, where a greyhound gets instantly killed?

So the answer? You can get a tougher unit with a very effective weapon at fair cost. The upgrades for M8 can make it as offensively effective as the quad, and a durable, for roughly double in both fuel, munitions and manpower.

You can buy 20-21 Grayhounds with a new company, even if you get some jeeps. + Mines for all Wink

But then your fuel is dedicated to one a single unit. Once the enemy has the right counters for it, its potential to reap back its cost is reduced.

An example of that would be, once I see an enemy fielding a heavy tank I bring on more anti tank guns. Its just a matter of course.
