There's also the issue of lag. If we have a full roster of eight players, we're probably going to have lag.

We are starting a war. Not a battle, but a full-scale war. I must stress how important it is that we line things up so that the war goes smoothly. Make sure you plan your computer time ahead of time too (family computer, roommates, etc).

The largest game I've played without enormous amounts of lag was a 3 player game. I honestly doubt we'll get a decent game with 8-10 people.

I tested it earlier with 5 people, there was no lag.  From what ive heard on the HoI2 forums as long as you keep the game speed at normal or below the game should be fine.

Wait wait wait what? No wonder.... The people I usually play with demands the game be on at least above normal. In this case, sign me up!

ThetaCommander - available on Fridays and Saturdays.

Doesn't look like I'll make it then. I can play pass midnight on Saturdays but Sunday's a working day.

Question;

After I produce a unit i can deploy it or press okay. If i press deploy it seems i can select a country, however the unit itself dosent show up. Where did it go?

on the left side of the screen is a deployment button. and when you click the deploy at the popup message that its finished you select the province that you wanna deploy it to. if you misclicked or something just click on the deployment button again and select the unit. its only clickable when you have units to deploy, otherwise its greyed out. its the rightmost of the 5 buttons  that are underneath the diplomacy/production/etc. bar.
only works on cores connected to your capital tough. for example if your germany and conquer england you cannot deploy units there. you have to deploy them somewhere on the mainland and ship them over there.

EDIT: btw, thtb, from what ive gathered your also from CET Timezone(GMT+1). if you want we can setup a 1v1(or maybe 2v2) training game during the week(doesnt have to be on a regular basis since i work odd hours sometimes).

I wouldn't mind playing a game. But sundays at 8 gmt is not too good.
What about a different game, saturdays starting around 3-4 gmt (10-11 est?).

Much better imo Smithy, sundays are bad for long games.

Thx a lot Libertine.

i assume you play japan ? 41 is a bit late since you need to prepare for US War. and being at war for too long gets your belligerence up so even if you say "no, dont attack pearl harbor" when the event fires chances are the US will DOW you anyway.
what difficulty are you playing on ?
in the game from which the above screenshot was taken look at the date. Ive conquered(and liberated...meh) the whole of europe by that time and great britain now has a beachhead bordering the soviet union  Shocked
also for japan be mindful of your manpower. building too many units early on will leave you drained for later when you need to reinforce your troops.

i wouldnt say Axis are doomed. The Russian AI is kinda stupid in Hoi2(gets improved in DD and Arma) and i have never(since game release) see Germany loose to the Soviets when both are AI controlled. They will get stuck eventually somewhere behind moscow but thats it.
when both are human controlled germany eventually looses due to manpower issues but with the AI its something different.
also a tip, AI tends to launch invasion at the most impossible places so guard your beaches  Wink

If we could have 2 running, with people who are not in the Sunday, 12 PST getting priority in sign ups for the second, would be cool. I just hope the 12 PST one doesn't loose interest. I could'nt make conditions work at anything later than 6 EST.

I woud prefer if we run the one today as planed, but reload on the next saturday, not sunday.

Also question;

Can i unload my units that are on ships onto beaches controoled by the enemy? And since i seem unable to do so; How can I clear enemy units out completly?
