HoI 2: DoomsDay - First real scenario!

I writte what happend so far from my standpoint.

(1948)
Russia dosent start to well, they have a big army, but its completly outdated and it takes over 1.000 IC to get it to the current standart ( i have 200 max, but need 120 for other things at least).
For long, nothing really happend,
Russia focused on its inner Reconstruction, began to fix the troops and kick out the enemy spys (i had 32, now i have 4).
Meanwhile Germany started takeing minor nations, but was not attacked by the other countrys.
Before 1949, russia took persia in a decently quick attack, but allowed persia to keep its capital.
In the early 1949´s, russia and germany decleared war on poleland and are now currently fighting very  hard against the polelish army and rebells. Russia took a greater part of poleland (3 territorys deep) while germany mainly only destroyed the borders, because it is under preasure from a very aggresiv french military that managed to make its way to the italien capital of rome and is still laying siege to it.

GB sank the bismarck and pretty much the rest of the axis ships. U.s.A. didnt do anything yet, japan took china.

Russia is in danger of being outteched since it does not share blueprints with any allys like the axis or allys do.

Since when did you guys started playing Doomsday? I thought you were playing vanila HOI2? Anyways, since you went out of your way to get Doomsday, why not get Armageddon as well? It fixes a few bugs and there.

France if played during 1936 can extend the Maginot line across its entire borders. If you have a good Great Britain and a good France, you can actually hold out pretty well against the Germans without extending the line.

ThtB in case you didn't know its best to make your army twice or triply obsolete before updating it, especially as the USSR. Makes updates take much less time, and maybe cost less (I forget). Try and save your IC for building factories and more armor.

actually, if you have decent players for France and GB you can be in Berlin by the beginning of 1940. Germany simply cannot build enough Troops to hold the West against a strong France/GB and conquer Poland at the same time.

i wouldnt get into a game where the allies and soviets are allowed to just rush germany from the start. thats not fun. should be at least semi-historical. eq. us can only enter when pearl harbor fires or germany dows them for some reason. and russia should have to respect molotov-ribbentrop pact until germany dows them aswell.
if you have US, France, GB and Soviets going to war with Germany in 39 you might aswell stop playing the game cause you know it will be over in < 1 month.

I dont intend to attack germany. Enave partisans in poleland and all the smaller countrys i took.

To bad you cant trade blueprints with allys or axis as soviet.

This game turned into a wierd one.  I was able to declare war as the US in 1939, and I invaded Spain.  Germany got spain to join the Axis in early 1939.  France and the UK attacked from the north east while Germany was busy with Poland, and I (USA) brought about 9 marine divisions and 3 armored divisions and landed near Portugal. 

It took us a bit longer than expected to finish off Spain/Portugal, and Germany finished Poland quickly.  France didnt have any defenses on the Germany border so Germany quickly blitzed through Belgium and then took Paris.  The french then settled for the Vichy government, leaving the UK and USA to hold the line in Spain.  We mopped up Spain and the USA annexed them. 

The UK then began establishing a line on the old French/Spanish border, and I started moving my divisions into north africa.  Then I got held up by the Vichy French because we could not declare war on them and they wouldnt give me military access.  So...  I had to get my transports and ship my troops around french africa and land in Tripoli, this was pretty effective at first as I quickly gained ground and was able to land most of my army there.  I pushed all the way to Tobruk, and then a very bad thing happened...

Everything stopped because my oil supplies ran out.  My armored and mechanized divisions ground to a complete halt.  The Germans and Italians encircled me and annhilated my divisions one by one, I got what I could out but most of the US army was destroyed. 

This game pretty much ended in 1941, I hope we actually do decide to load the save and finish it out because it is still early in the war.  I just simply forgot to manage my convoys properly and ran out of supplies.  I think the same thing happaned to unknown but his problem was more with the german submarines killing his conveys in the atlantic.

I wont let that happen again now that I know what I did wrong. 

Thtb was playing the Soviets and was planning to invade Germany but he crashed before he got the chance to.  I think the Germans had a lot of divisions on the Russian border anyway.
