You probably both have shitty PCs then.
My 1200 - 1600€ Gaming pc will outdo the XboX anyday.

Shitty PC, eh ?
4GB Memory, Core 2 Duo 8500, 8800GTX ... hmm, yeah, must be my PC.
Its funny how you say Cozmo is Console Fanboy while the same can be said for you and PCs.

Consoles allways had superior Garphics to PCs. The reason is quite simply, a console is built solely for the puprose of gaming.

You seriously should have a look at mass effect, a perfect example.

I still completely disagree, PCs can get much better performance and graphics, just look at Crysis. Consoles are already getting outdated compared to the new generation PCs. I'm also not a PC fanboy, like I said, I own a Wii and like to play the occasional console game. I just don't see why I would need a 600€ console when I have a kickass PC that can do all the things the console can + shitloads more.

to get crysis running at COD 4 levels on the xbox 360 you will need a fucking expensive PC.

dunno how you come up with 600€ for a Console. My Xbox 360 cost 299€, compared to my PC which was ~1300€.

Do you have any actual facts you can base your statement that PCs have better gfx and performance ? i mean no offense here but owning a Wii really is no basis for comparsion.
Cryis is neglectable. i rented it from the video store and was lucky to get it running with medium settings and even then 1680x1050 wasnt an option. it has good graphics, yes, but also it requires hardware to make full use of it that 95% of people dont have. whats the point in that ?
and as i said, compare it to mass-effect which you just put in your console and runs lagfree with almost photo-realistic graphics.

PS3 costs 600€, Xbox costs 400€. Add up the games that cost about 10 - 20€ more, the expensive extra controllers and gadgets that you need to purchase and the lack of mouse+keyboard needed to play MMORPG/RTS & FPS.
Anyway, I use my PC for a lot more than just gaming, yet I can play games on the same level people play them on Consoles.

I'm also not using my Wii as comparison, that'd be retarded, I pointed out that I own a Wii to proof that I'm not just a PC fanboy.

Most console players have a PC anyway, which means they purchased a PC AND a console on top of that when just putting some extra money in their PC would pretty much achieve the same thing, they'd just have a multifunctional platform.

Whatever, platform preference, no point in debating now.

how do you come up with these numbers ?

Amazon Prices:
xbox 360 - 270€ with Harddrive(20GB) + 1 Controller
PS3 - 400€ with Harddrive(40GB) + 1 Controller
additional Controllers(wireless) cost about 25€ for both.
so say, 360 costs 300€ with 2 Controllers and PS3 430€ also with 2 Controllers.

now lemme see, my Mouse(Logitech MX1000) cost me 89€ when i bought it, my Keybord 69€...

bloody hell, when i bought my 8800GTX that alone costed 400€.
if were talking price/performance proportions consoles beat PC no matter what.

im not saying i like my 360 better then my pc, i still spend a lot more time on the pc then on the 360 but still i wont argue that the pc is better. occasionaly it crashes, i have to patch, i have to reboot, some games won run at all with vista...you dont have those kinda problems with a console.

You dont have patches on the console?

The console doesn't crash?

Backwards compatibility doesn't suck bigtime?

You're living in dream console land =D

On topic maybe?

If you want to discuss the merits of PC versus Console just make another thread, or we could just get the last 2 1/2 pages of this one split off.

Unless something changes it has already been stated that it's not coming to PC.

Something more along the lines of the Blah Blah Stories have been rumored to be in the works though

299€ with Halo 3 at a big Chain Store.

i do, but it works like this -> power up -> click yes -> go make a cup of coffe -> come back and everythings done.

not once since i had it.

nope. and quite frankly, what should it be backwards compatible too ? old xbox games ? no thanks.
but try vista for backwards compatiblity. spent 2 days fucking around to get pacific storm to work. others(that US Civil War game from paradox, dont recall the name) wont work at all.
Wildlife Park 2 -> no vista support until it got patched in.

nope, im just living in a world where PC > Consoles just aint the truth.
both have their pros and cons but as far as a pure gaming station goes Consoles win.

Since we are off topic let me put in my 2cents regarding PC's vs Consoles.   Yes its true most consoles are just as good if not better than PCs, however could you play CoH on a console?   What if CoH was on a console, then could you play EiR?  Unlikely.    I love PC games just for the added value you get from modded games.  I love playing custom maps on TF2 and CoH.

as i allready said, RTS, FPS, MMORPGs, Strategy Games ... way better on PC.
i once played Gears of War on my 360 and never got comfortable with it...controlling such a game with a controller rathern then keyboard & mouse is just weird.

but more action oriented RPGs(Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey for example) just kick ass on Console and a bigass TV screen Wink
same for racing games or pure action stuff like Dead Rising.

Hahaha! WHAT?!

Sorry, my friend, but I work at the local gamestop. The number of crashes and breakdowns from Xbox360s and PS3s is QUITE numerous.

Heck, xbox360's seem to crash more than PC does! At least my PC hasn't fried itself and I had to send it off to a factory before due to shoddy workmanship.

Hard drive corruption, freezes and crashes are all part of consoles, whether you choose to believe it or not.

Personally though, my $600 PC I built plays most stuff on high graphics that has come out and I just got a new graphics card on the way that should really bump things up. Yeah, with consoles you have the ease of something designed specifically for gaming, but I always want more than that.

I want to do other stuff while gaming, I want mod-ability and I want games built around mouse and keyboard!

Gah, looks at CoD4 for consoles. 16 player max servers or something? Most of the game modes involves really small numbers. Not to mention the servers aren't as customizable/mod-able.

My 360 has yet to do any of the apparently common and numerous faults it's capable of. And I've had it for over a year.

I won both a PC and 360 for gaming, I play FPS on both, I play RTS on both (to a limited extent on the 360). Obviously RTS is dominated by the PC. However, I've found I really enjoy realistic/tactical shooters on the 360 much more, and I enjoy racing games much more. Other than that, give me my computer.

Anyway, stop derailing the thread.
